Laura Ashley does a material something similar - not as big a pattern - maybe you could get someone to make you a cover?

TutterIckOrTreat · 18/10/2006 12:45

hmmm yes this isn't a million miles off.

i wonder how i'd go abotu finding someone local who would run up hems and th like. do you think a dry cleaner would be worth asking? they normally have people who do alterations.

How about this duvet cover ? Similar colours.

Ask Quokka - she lives in Ealing and is handy with a sewing machine (I gather that she can do curtains and such exotic things) - I think she might be cheaper than external and give you mates rates for being a mumsnetter. She's coming to the west London meet up if you want to hijack her on that thread.

it is but i'd really like to go for all white bedlinen plus a cover

have been thinking of switching to all white bedlinen for all beds for a while

brave or foolish i wonder

Thats the one I was thinking of - it comes in different shades and can also get wallpaper - I've always loved it.

Yes a dry cleaner - or local paper - or posh clothes shop.

My MIL does work for posh clothes shops.

or if you are just doing a throw/blanket - get the iron on hemming stuff.

KellyKrueger1978 · 18/10/2006 12:49

th eone on the bed looks designer to me, esp looking at how nice the rest of the room is decorated, maybe calvin klein? I would try somewhere like house of fraser.

scarysuejonez · 18/10/2006 12:50

wihtout wanting to go all middle class on you - M&S new stuff is lovely (though perhaps a bit sparkly for what you have in mind). Lovely cream plain pinticked cover and glittery sparkly navy. OOH, shiny sparkly things - I've never really grown out of wanting to be a fairy.

tracyk · 18/10/2006 12:51

Go white bedlinen with the Laura Ashley as a throw/cushions, and maybe wallpaper or wall behind bed as an accent wall.

TutterIckOrTreat · 18/10/2006 12:52

tracy that would be lovely, but we're about to move into a rented house for a year - not allowed to redecorate. cover and cushions would be lovely though.

Actually Laura Ashley do their own make up service - you ask them to do it. Maybe a bit pricier - but would get it all done in a oner.

Get the wallpaper and cover a couple of blank canvases and hang on wall instead!

TutterIckOrTreat · 18/10/2006 12:53

sue i just can't bring myself to spend m&s money on bedlinen - don't think it's worth it. i still have a plan to visit that king of cotton place on sandycombe rd and stock up on egyptian cotton bedding and fluffy white towels before we move.

Have you sold your house Tutter? How did I miss that?

scarysuejonez · 18/10/2006 12:55

Don;t know why i suggest it Tutter becasue I don;t buy mine there. But then I can't remember the last time I bought any - good old plain cream or white with a touch of embroidery.

TutterIckOrTreat · 18/10/2006 12:56

yes but haven't exchanged yet so please touch any nearby wood

Tutter if you do go, find out it they have extra deep fited sheets for a reasonable price - I have a feather bed topper and I need extra deep sheets.

scarysuejonez · 18/10/2006 12:57

Oh well done - moving to Wargrave I gather (very home counties!)

TutterIckOrTreat · 18/10/2006 13:41

bowk - you wouldn't believe the number of sateen quilted affairs that are turning up in my google searches
