Rant Alert: WHY IS THERE NO SHAMPOO FOR GREASY HAIR ANYMORE?

Not "oily scalp" not "sensitive scalp" not "unmanageable" just hair that gets greasy after one day! It is doing my head in. I don't like shampoos with lots of chemical crap in them, or fragrances. So I've been using Waitrose baby shampoo for years and rinsing like a bastard, but still after 24 hours I feel like I need to wash my hair again. Uuurghhh.
I'm sure the shampoo exists, but I can't fucking see it. Can anyone help?

I think Head and Shoulders do one for greasy hair as well. Failing that as other posters have said look for 'clarifying', which seems to be the new 'greasy hair'. Clarifying is meant to get rid of any buildup of products/silicones too.

Right, have bought nettle shampoo and will try the Klorane dry shampoo too.

Bodyshop Ginger shampoo makes my hair really clean. I have to wash my hair every two days. Although meant for flaky scalps it has a real cleansing effect on my hair. And gentle on my scalp.

I bought Alberto apple shampoo yesterday and it says "For greasy hair' on the bottle.

I had the Paul Mitchell Clarifying one, but it completely stuffed up my scalp. Never had a dandruff problem until i used that. So then i had grease and dandruff! Hmm

You do get into a bit of a vicious circle i think with greasy hair. It feels oily so you wash it everyday, and then it produces more oils because its been dried out by the washing process.

What about if you try wash it every other day, and use a dry shampoo in between.

I used to love Alberto Balsam shampoo. They used to make a purple one (free me freesia) and it was the only one that made my hair shine so beautifully.

Then they were bought out by Unilever and don't make it anymore.... Angry

I found my greasiness cleared a bit when I stopped washing so frequently, though was a bit grim. Confused I now do every other day.

Fringes are a pain, I use dry shampoo in mine on the other day that I don't wash my hair.

Stripping good if you have buildup but best avoided overall so try to stop build up. Easiest way is avoid any silicones/cates in shampoos. Baby shampoo can be good, or those for volume ( designed to be light and not weigh hair down).

I have a horrifyingly expensive Shock bottle of bb which I use once a week and a high street volume one I use in between. Seems in reasonable balance.

Phillip Kingsley shampoos are amazing. Try the 'one day more' dry shampoo.

Liz Earle sulphate-free shampoo. It takes a little getting used to, but then it's marvellous. I can wash my hair every other day with it or even 3 days. Plus it makes my fine hair feel thicker. I've run out and am temporarily using Aussie Volumising stuff and I hate it.

Sorry meant to say that I don't do SLS as it makes my scalp itch and I'm fussy as fuck when it comes to how things smell. The rant came about after I thought "fuck it, I'll spend some money" and went into Harvey Nicks only to find that nothing even suggested oily hair.

What is BB Wottamess?

I heard that some shampoos can leave a film on your hair so that you'll wash it more often exacerbating the problem. Pantene was one mentioned.

Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo once a week, plus Paul Mitchell Tea Tree for regular use would be a good combo to try.

I feel your pain OP.
The best ones I have found are the Kerastese shampoo mentioned further up the thread and Paul Mitchell shampoo 2.
I always shampoo twice and only condition the ends.
I use shit loads of dry shampoo (batiste)on day two,and always the one for blonde hair which is better than just the usual ones. I have also discovered hair powder which makes it feel gross but have been able to go THREE days which is a first.
The high street shampoos for greasy/oily hair have been shite for me.

Bumping this thread as I found the recommendation for this somewhere on one of these threads www.boots.com/en/LOreal-Paris-Elvive-Extraordinary-Clay-Masque-Pre-Shampoo-Treatment-150ml_1790357/

and I've just had surprisingly good results with it. Masque was quite enjoyable to use.

Only used the masque and conditioner and my normal shampoo and the masque must have a big difference to giving a bit of volume at my scalp. Conditioner also surprisingly good for glossy hair. Was v taken by the transformation in my hair once it was dry!

Interested to see how long it lasts now.

But thanks to whever rec'd it, it's very nice to see my hair suddenly looking so healthy!

I think this's because people wash their hair more often, so it didn't get greasy between washes.
