Good under eye concealer, for dark circles. That actually has shades for mixed race skin

Pretty much sums it up really.

Went to Boots today on the hunt for a concealer for my dark circles. However, apart from No 7's instant radiance under eye one (that didn't seem to do anything, however much I put on). I couldn't find any concealers that had darker shades.

Really pissed me off actually. Can anyone help?

Estée Lauder double wear. Deep 05 is dark and their range is pretty good. Took me about 20 years to find one. Now it's my only must have item.

yazz21 · 20/01/2015 17:50

Thanks, would I be able to find that in Boots, Debehams etc? Oh and how expensive is that please?

I have to be honest DD struggles with finding make-up too

Foundations are hard & often lipsticks are the wrong tone

So with that useless advise - I'll watch the thread for more suggestions

yazz21 · 20/01/2015 18:23

It is hard isn't it!
I got colour matched for my foundation at the no7 counter in Boots. I'd really reccomend that, its not high coverage (but I don't need it to be) but it is my exact skin tone. Before that I'd never bought a foundation, because I struggled to find darker shades.

I also have the same problem as your dd with lipsticks!

Its really annoying that a lot of high street brands, don't seem to be catering for darker skin.

i believe that the brand sleek was originally designed for darker skin tones so they could be worth a look? you can get it either in store or online at superdrug

prettywhiteguitar · 20/01/2015 18:25

Mac seem to have a variety of shades but they're more than high St prices.

KatyMac · 20/01/2015 18:27

Yes I think DD uses Mac at college & also on stage

But as you say it's pricey

bawabod · 20/01/2015 18:37

Try Bobbi Brown the ladies can be really helpful depending on which store you go to.

Namechangeyetagaintohide · 20/01/2015 18:43

I'd also say mac or nars. Possibly bobbi brown too.

Sorry none of those are cheap.

yazz21 · 20/01/2015 18:58

I've never heard of sleek. I'll have to do some googling!

I've heard Bobbi Brown mentioned online, as being good for darker skin but I've never come across it. Is it a shop? Or a counter in a shop?

How pricey is it? I don't mind paying extra if the products really good and lasts. Like I said I'm struggling to find anything at the moment!

Unfortunately no plans to visit new york, butt did find it interesting :)

Just been having a look on the website. What is the eye brightening thing called? Also Is it a cc cream? A powder?

OP posts:
yazz21 · 20/01/2015 20:04

Sorry! Just found the eye brightener. I'm not sure if its dark enough or not. Where would I find Bobbi brown make up in person? Own shop? Counter in another shop?

I use no 7 too (deeply honey concealer and foundation). I'm Indian with dark olive skin.

I used to use Mac and Bobbi Brown but it's a bit too spendy for me and the deeply honey colour is pretty much a perfect match. And I use sleek for lipsticks and lipcolours.

Only1scoop · 20/01/2015 20:21

Yazz I used the BB corrector and then concealer palette.

They are mainly in large department stores....Selfridges ....H O F etc.... They will often do you a little demo on the spot ....the contouring brush for the concealer is fab aswell.

PorkyMinch · 20/01/2015 20:23

There's a store locator on the Bobbi Brown website. If you put your postcode, it'll tell you the nearest counter.

They have a great range. High street foundation doesn't match me either, so I appreciate your frustration. Luckily, BB foundation is brilliant.

yazz21 · 20/01/2015 21:16

Cheers guys :)
Enormouse - I too am the deeply honey colour in no7. Its great in the foundation, but the under eye concealer I tried seemed to do nothing for the dark circles I've currently sprouted! Will investigate sleek lipsticks though :)

Only1scoop - A demo thing would be perfect as I'm sure I will get confused by all the different options!

PorkyMinch - Cheers, found one in the Debenhams near me.

Thanks for all your help, will go there and try the Bobbi Brown stuff

Yes big boots stores do stock Estée Lauder. It is about £20 but lasts over a year. It's the only brand that doesn't dry up and sit in fine lines. Making you look lined where u r not. IYSWIM. They ladies on the counter are v helpful. As are bobbi brown and nars etc. also try bare minerals. They are good too.

yazz21 · 20/01/2015 22:03

Is there one in particular that you'd reccomend from Estee lauder? £20 isn't bad if it lasts that long!

Yes, ladies on the counter are a life saver for me!

OP posts:
Mrsap · 20/01/2015 22:33

Yes. Double wear concealer in deep05 is perfect for me but try them as the shades vary a bit.

yazz21 · 20/01/2015 22:42

Thank you. Sorry I saw you said which one in your 1st post. Will definately give that one a look aswell.
