Does anyone bleach their lip hair?

I am white with dark hair and get a 'tash if I don't keep up with waxing but its a right faff and sore. Am wondering if I could get away with lightening (without ending up with a ginger 'tash and looking like Keith Lemon??)

I had a friend who did this. It was ginger, sorry. What about threading? I found with waxing mine eventually went away. But it took about 20 years!!

EamesIsMyHomeboy · 15/01/2015 13:33

I use the veet strips and they just dont grip half of it. Maybe I need a better wax option?

Ive bleached since I was about 14 and its never ever gone ginger. the only time it goes ginger is if you take the bleach off too soon.

mooth · 15/01/2015 18:35

I had a friend who did this and the hair was left white blond - but still was very noticeable, to be honest.

ilovemydoggy · 15/01/2015 18:40

I do bleach mine, I find boots home make the best I leave on for 10 mins and wipe off I then hair trim any ling ones and it's hardly noticeable.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/01/2015 18:47

I just use hair removing cream.

Roussette · 15/01/2015 19:08

If I bleached mine I would look like a pubescent blonde boy with a pretty striking moustache! Bleaching doesn't make the hair go away and in the wrong light it looks dreadful. Threading is the way to go!

bonzo77 · 15/01/2015 19:14

I alternate waxing and bleaching. I bleach when the hairs are too short to grip the wax, but too "there" to be left. Probably do one of the other every 7-10 days.

GertrudePerkins · 15/01/2015 19:18

I bleach my 'tache. it's not perfect, TBH. However I don't want to start removing it, as when I pluck my (many) fine chin hairs, great big thick ones grew in their place and I now have to get the tweezers on it morning and evening. I really don't want to risk the same happening with the old 'tache.

CorporateRockWhore · 15/01/2015 19:19

Pluck! You need Tweezerman tweezers and a magnifying mirror. It bloody hurts getting them all at the beginning but now it's just a couple here and there.

Greengardenpixie · 15/01/2015 21:13

Its fine. I bleach mine off and on. I have never had it go ginger!

Greengardenpixie · 15/01/2015 21:16

I agree with the concept that the hair grows in more noticeable. I NEVER used to shave my legs. They had fine barely visible hair on them. One day i decided to do it...OMG i could never wear shorts without shaving them now. It seems to trigger something. The hairs seem to keep growing and are quite long. I would not ever risk it with my tache.

HolgerDanske · 15/01/2015 21:17

I used to bleach but it was still noticeable, esp in certain lights.

Now I use boots hair removal cream. A box costs about £3.50, if I remember correctly, although it's hard to say as I don't usually pay for it in cash - I save up my boots points and use those.

pourmeanotherglass · 15/01/2015 21:20

veet strips are rubbish, they miss half of it, so you keep repeating, then it gets all sore. I use hair removing cream. Does anyone know of better wax strips than the veet ones?

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 15/01/2015 21:25

Can't you use Veet cream? I always have. No faff, no pain. 5 mins and wipe then wash it off.

ThreeQuartersEmpty · 15/01/2015 21:29

Sorry, but my friend did this and it just makes the hairs white. Stand to the side of her in the sunlight and its a full on tache.

Methe · 15/01/2015 21:31

Buy an [http://www.amazon.co.uk/Epistick-Epilator-Complete-Instructions-RazorBlades4u/dp/B004LNXA0Y epistick]]. I am HAIRY and beaching either give you a ginger tash or a white one.. Neither of which look goog with dark brown hair.

My epistick has literally revolutionised my life Blush

Methe · 15/01/2015 21:32

Well that link didn't work Blush

LemonDrizzleTwunt · 15/01/2015 21:43

Nads wax all the way. Can't beat the stuff. You just whack it in the microwave for 10 seconds and you're good to go. And it's actually sugar, not wax, so one wipe with a damp cloth and any residue is gone.

LemonDrizzleTwunt · 15/01/2015 21:43

Do not try to eat it, though it tastes gross

sergeantmajor · 16/01/2015 19:10

I've bleached for 20 odd years. It works for me. Boots one is better than Jolen.

If you're worried it would go ginger, try the bleach and keep some wax close at hand in case it doesn't work for you.

You could also try electrolysis. You have to keep it up regularly but it would be good if the hairs are thick and noticeable.

Hillingdon · 16/01/2015 19:31

Bleach works for me but agree, have another option lined up. Also agree Boots is much better than Jolen.

Twinklestein · 16/01/2015 20:54

A friend of mine did this and she ended up with a peroxide tash.

She had it lasered in the end.
