Liz Earle cleanse and polish - do you have to use cloths?

I love this cleanser and have had compliments since using it but I do get a bit tired of the cloths. Can you use the cleanser without any sort of cloth and will it have the same effect?

Yes, any sort of cloth. I use a similar cleanser and take it off with cheapo Primark flannels wrung out in very warm water. They're quite scrubby so give a good exfoliating effect. Some people prefer muslins but I don't find them scrubby enough

Same as Lotta, I use a flannel/DDs old muslin. Haven't noticed a difference except it's considerably cheaper!

I usually just wash it off without a cloth, seems fine to me.

You do need a cloth to remove it as it is quite rich and a thick texture. That's why I stopped using it - I love the cream but I don't like scrubbing my face with a cloth as I have quite sensitive skin and also it's a faff.

Find a lighter textured one you can splash off? I use Elemis Rosepetal Rehydrating Cleanser at the moment, or Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean. Or cleansing oils are good and give a glow - Shu Uemura is the best and splashes off cleanly but Sancturary do one in Boots, I haven't tried it though so can't recommend.

I use a flannel in the evening but in the morning I massage the cream into my greasy sweaty face and then rinse off under the shower.

I use the 69p cloths muslin from homebargains. Then I'm not so precious about them.

I use cotton wool.

I think the texture of the C&P is so thick that it needs a cloth to remove it. Surely it would take longer to try and rinse it off with just water?

JohnCusacksWife · 15/01/2015 22:51

Isn't the cloth part of the routine? You need the ever so slightly rough texture of the muslin to slough off the cream and dead skin cells.

Yes it works as the Polish part of the Cleanse & Polish.
