Cetaphil or La Roche Posay

I have dry dehydrated skin, it's dull and horrible and seems to eat my makeup leaving my patchy!

Reading quite a bit about these products and they seem to get good reviews, but unsure what to try!

I like simple skin care, I like to cleanses and wash off with water otherwise I don't feel clean I'm also looking for a good eye cream as around my eyes are dull and grey

Anyone tried these products, can offer advice on products in these ranges I could use?

I am using La Roche Toleriane Ultra as both day and night moisturiser - love it. Ultra calming.

I use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser as both make-up remover and face wash. To be fair I don't have dry skin. On the other hand I am 60 and use the same moisturiser for under eyes. At the moment it's Bio-Oil cream, cheap at Aldi and seems fine.

Most of the time, with exception of sensitive skin, the whole eye cream is a bit of money making on the part of the cosmetics industry, but your ultra-dry problem seems to call for something different, so I hope someone with experience will tip up soon.

What all the research shows is that money does not equal results in the moisturiser department. It's what suits your skin.

I use and really love La Roche Posay, its changed my skin tremendously. Before changing to this brand I was on the clinique 3 step but it wasn't doing anything great for my skin despite using it for so long. There are great moisturisers for your skin type at La Roche, I use effaclar H for oily dehydrated skin and its amazing in the winter.

Eucerin hyaluron range. Magic.

Cetaphil moisturiser is awesome. Not expensive, lasts for ages and doesnt clog poors or cause spots. Make up goes on really nicely afterwards. I think I got the lotion rather than the cream (but my skin is not super dry, more combination).

I prefer cetaphil to La roche posay

I love the Cetaphil cleanser. It's one of the very few products that I have ever used where I feel like it has actually made my skin softer and smoother.

I use Cetaphil face wash , but it doesn't do a great job of removing my make up. I only usually use mascara and eye liner, but it is too 'gentle' for that.

But most days I don't wear make up so it is fine.
Definitely isn't a harsh stripper -skin feels soft - I rarely need to moisturise afterwards.

Avene also worth a look. I like their Hydrance Optimale Riche moisturiser for everyday. Choose the gentlest cleanser you can, and try Nivea basic blue pot moisturiser for overnight. I'm actually using it in the day too atm as my skin is so ridiculously dry, but it is very very rich.
