uggs-Are they completely 'out' now?

I am heavily pregnant and at the stage where laces and buckles on shoes never mind heels are just an awkward difficulty. Having never considered them before I do remember hearing uggs are really comfy, are they totally passé now though?

I would say at least 40% of mums at my DCs school (quite a naice school at that) wear Uggs of some sort. I ditched mine a few years ago as they were worn to deal and felt I would be better in something more structured. I have also knackered my feet completely by wearing flat shoes with no support, ie, Uggs in winter and ballet pumps in summer. I had to see a chiropodist about my feet and felt like a right old bag! Unsure if I would ever go back to them.

Ooh Madame I like those Celtic ones!

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 13/01/2015 19:04

I have celtic sheepskins boots which are similar but a bit less popular and made in Cornwall. Another who doesn't care if they're passé, sometimes you need the comfort and warmth.

For me they are comfort zone boots.
I work outside sometimes and in freezing weather only uggs will do.
I love mine and never have cold feet.
I don't think they are particularly stylish, (but not too bad) I have other nicer to look at boots.

Vogue have evidently received lots of moolah to write this

So they are in. I never stopped wearing mine, my feet are tortured so often and this is their reward.

cartoontrickster · 13/01/2015 21:17

I have ugg noiras but they are difficult to get off might just be my cankles
emu might be worth a look as they have re enforced heels and toes so look like the traditional boot but a bit more supportive.

GraysAnalogy · 13/01/2015 21:18

No they really are cartoon I'm a size 4 and sometimes 3 but wish I'd have got a 5 in those coz they're a pain!

mowglik · 13/01/2015 21:19

I have a tall classic pair and they look the same as they did 4/5 yrs ago when I got them. Planning to get a short black classic pair to wear as they are so comfy! Cant always be a style icon Hmm

SandorClegane · 13/01/2015 21:23

I replaced the laces in my converse with elastic when I was pregnant so I could keep them tied and just pull them on and off.

PrimalLass · 13/01/2015 21:28

My Emu boots went floppy far quicker than my Uggs.

Cocolepew · 13/01/2015 21:32

The River Island ones are very good, usually around £35.

Endler32 · 13/01/2015 21:38

I wear them, I don't care if they are fashionable or not, I wear them because they are comfy and I can slip my feet straight into them without faffing around.
