YSL Touch Eclat Foundation is it worth it?

I have read mixed reviews. I am 44 with comb skin but not a very oily T zone & cheeks are more normal. I have fine lines. I'm looking for a dewy look. I can't wear primers as they cause me to break out. What's the coverage like? Does it last all day?

yes ! i love it and I have quite oily skin. I can't wear primers either. It's def my favourite foundation and I'm nearly 44. I do use quite a bit of powder on top though as don't want to look too shiny. but have found the perfect shade for me and it sits best on my skin ..have tried so many... Armani for instance is pricey yet doesn't go well on me and shows up any dry bits...
can't bear their touch éclat wand, it's awful but I will continue to use the foundation. if you use powder on top, then yes, it will last (i can't comment otherwise, as have never not used powder with foundation!)

Thanks I will give it a try then. I do use loose powder - (Corn silk is the best as it is a neutral translucent colour & doesn't change the colour of your foundation).
Teint Eclat It seems to be what I'm looking for. I use Bare minerals under eye brightener. A really nice powder for highlighting the cheeks is Hour Glass Ambient Lighting powder.
I think I am shade B10. I am in Australia & have to go I to the city to a dept store to get it or order online. I would have liked to try a sample. I went into our new depr store that has just opened in our local shopping centre but there isn't an YSL counter which was a shame. I don't really go into the city.

Hourglass ambient light is amazing isn't it I treated myself to it for Xmas

Kittykat7 · 13/01/2015 13:53

We have just had Mecca store opened & I love it in there. They are great too & exchange if you use it & are not happy with it.
The girl used the powder on me & it's amazing. She used dim light but I like the Etheral light for the cheekbones & to highlight other areas.

I really like it. Its light, but has enough coverage for me. I use a primer (I know that you can't) and it does stay on all day. I am on my third bottle. I am a BD40 with dry skin.

Fabulassie · 13/01/2015 16:32

OP, your skin sounds similar to mine (I'm 45). I am currently using YSL TE and I quite like it. It does give a nice dewy finish. For what it's worth, though, I do the powder-over-moisturiser-under-foundation thing as a primer base. It may look different if I didn't do that.

I have also liked No 7 Protect and Perfect. Those two foundations have been my favourites in the past year - I used up my second bottle of No 7 and thought I'd try YSL for a change. I couldn't say they are vastly different on my skin.

I do love how the YSL smells.

Kittykat7 · 14/01/2015 14:04

Thanks I think I'll try it. I checked & they do it at our Mecca store. I will get the assistant to try it on my skin & ask for a sample too. It's $82 so I don't want to make a mistake. I need to try s few days in a row to make sure I wontt react to it.

I got s sample today. I was matched to shade B20. I tried it & it seems very sheer & just disappeared into my face. There was just no coverage at all. I'll try again tomorrow & see if I can build up the coverage & set with loose powder. I wasn't very impressed though.

welltidy can you tell me what primer you use? I also have dry skin and have been using the YSL foundation but not surrently loving the results and finding it's not lasting well

queenbrunhilda · 19/01/2015 19:33

Yes, totally worth it and lasts for ages. (Normal to dehydrated skin)

Fabulassie · 19/01/2015 22:56

Homepride, have you tried putting powder on before your foundation? I use moisturiser, then loose powder, and then foundation. It really does make it wear so much better. I got the idea from gossmakeupartist (on youtube.)

Actually, I use Becca Skin Perfector, which is shimmery, as the moisturiser, which means my final look is somewhat different, but it works with just regular moisturiser.

Branleuse · 19/01/2015 23:02

the touche eclat one is nice but i prefer the ysl fusion one. its my favourite foundation ever

Kittykat7 · 20/01/2015 06:18

I tried it agsin today, started applying with my fingers then built up with a foundation brush. It's a little better. I'll see how it wears throughout the day.

Sorry to be late back to the thread Homepride. I have two primers. I find them equally as good. They are Elemis pro radiance something or other. I had it as a trial size free with a magazine, and it was so fab that I then bought it. It was about 26 or so. I have been using it maybe three times a week for months and I still have loads left. I don't use much, and it makes maybe a minute to absorb. The other one is an Estee Lauder illuminating one. It absorbs instantly. It was much the same price I think.

On the subject of foundations though, I am also trying the Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation, which is 10 in Boots. They soemtimes have a buy two Bourjois things for 14 offer. Today is the first day that I have used it, but I really like it so far,. Its very similar to the YSL one.

Do you use a foundation brush? I never used to, but I bought one in Boots before Christmas. It isn't a top end one. It came in a green and clear long wallet thing, so I can put it away after each use. I think it was about a tenner. I find that it means that I use less foundatiopn and it looks so much more finished.

WellTidy · 20/01/2015 08:52

Fabulassie Interesting what you say about loose powder. I have never used it as I have dry skin. I thought that powder would make it drier. What do you think?

Fabulassie · 20/01/2015 10:54

I don't think it will make your skin dryer, no. It goes on top of moisturiser and I don't think that will actually make a difference in the dryness of your skin.

I have pretty much normal skin (aging, not oily) and I wear serum and moisturiser and then a slightly shimmering "perfecter" under the serum and I don't experience any dryness. My foundation just wears really well. I recommend giving it a try! Any cheap powder will do. I think mine is from Seventeen or one of those cheaper brands at Boots.

WellTidy · 20/01/2015 12:04

I think I will Fabulassie" How to you apply loose powder - do you need a special brush, or can I use my bronzing brush?

I don't know if I am doing what you are doing, just without the loose powder, as I'm not up with modern terminology! I am an Estee Lauder skincare girl. I cleanse, apply their Idealist, and then moisturise (Daywear). Then I apply the primer (i will now be putting the loose powder on after the primer), then I put the foundation on.

Is that right? have I got too many/the wrong things in there?!

Fabulassie · 20/01/2015 22:27

I've never tried it with primer! I don't use primer, to be honest. I would recommend trying it skipping the primer - you may not need it at all. That said, the Becca shimmering stuff (which is a little less shiny that Benefit High Beam) is sort of a primer in a way. I think Soap and Glory do a similar product, by the way.

Anyway, I use a big fluffy brush - mine is very cheap. I guess a bronzing brush would work but I would want all the bronzer cleaned off it if it were me. I'm not sure if it works as well to use a pressed powder.

WellTidy · 21/01/2015 09:38

Thanks Fab. I need to use a primer as I have two, and I don't want to waste them now that I've bought them! I will bear the becca in mind as a future purchase. It sounds similar to my Dior glow maximiser. I mix that with foundation sometimes and it gives a bit of a shimmer. You can use it to contour as well, but I am useless at things like that so I don't bother.
