I've been shopping away since 27 December to get bargains in the sales. The standard of customer service and time to deliver has ben very variable though. Special thanks to:

Brora - Delivered at 9.23 am this morning, ordered 10pm 6 January, standard delivery. They were very polite to me when I rang up and asked what time the sale started on the internet.

Toast - 2 days to deliver, lovely box.

Jigsaw - sent grovelling email saying delivery would be delayed then delivered in 3 days anyway.

Dreadful:

Cos - took 11 days to deliver, no communication at all. The print on the web site is so pale it is difficult to read. I really thought my stuff had gone missing.

I also had two orders from Emma Bridgewater take nearly 3 weeks to arrive (not fashion, but its already been mentioned, and have been needing to vent about it!)

I think maybe part of the problem is that we think of certain brands as being a bigger operation than they actually are. Not all these places have huge warehouses, 24hr picking and packing, and premium agreements with courier companies. But some retailers do provide a great service, so we expect everyone else to keep up and match it.

What would help is clearer communication regarding receipt of order, dispatch and delivery times. What irked me most about the Emma Bridgewater order was not so much the time it took, but that was there was no email from them for about 10 days, then a few days later I got a parcelforce tracking email from them, which didn't work. That was it, so I had no idea what was going on.

Netaporter, Whistles, Toast are all good. Also, DPD couriers are excellent in texting and emailing delivery times right down to the hour slot, and also take photos of where they leave the parcel if you're not in. So when I get the notification the delivery is coming from them, I'm always happy.

All great:
Boden, Uniqlo, All Saints, Bravura London, Hush (hasn't arrived yet but was dispatched pretty swiftly, should be here tomorrow).

Took ages but I don't mind as I know what they're like and the item is gorgeous:
& Other Stories

Just ordered so we shall see:
Toast

toptrumps agree re DPD, their couriers are great and the online tracking is very helpful.

I see your long delivery times and raise you.....

Lush.
I ordered on Boxing Day, still no delivery. I rang them last Wednesday to be told it would be despatched on Thursday.
Still nothing.

For the purposes of full disclosure I live less than a two hour drive from their hq and factory and we've had no snow or other potential impediments to delivery.

Can anyone top that?
