Dying jeans - light blue to dark indigo

Which dye should I use? I snagged a pair of Demi curve Levi's for £32 in the Next sale but they're pale blue and would like to dye them as dark indigo as possible. Any recommendations/tips? Thanks in advance.

I've had success with Dylon wash in dyes. I used velvet black on denim but think they do a couple of dark blue options.

The dylon machine dyes work well, but give a flat colour, not the more textured effect of blue denim.

Dylon machine dye is easiest. Seeing as you want to go v dark indigo flat colour shouldn't be an issue for you.

I've redyed faded jeans with Dylon machine wash and been v happy with the result.

Agree with dylon machine dye. I've used them to refresh dark denim and also black jeans, been very happy with the result. It will come out a flat colour though and the stitching will be dyed dark too.

The stitching will not be dyed if it's polyester. This is usually ok with jeans.

I've had success with Dylon machine dyes for refreshing black jeans and making light blue darker. I once tried to refresh a faded grey pair - and they went a dark green colour!

I'd take the jeans back.
Honestly the results will be very disappointing.

Can you not scrunch them up and tie them up during dying so you get a more varied effect?

I tried dying a pair once years ago, using Dylon but one leg turned a different shade to the other.

I've used Dylon machine dye navy blue. Very happy with the results. The colour will be flat but that doesn't bother me. I like dark blue - far more flattering.

Dylon machine dye- there's a jeans blue one. One dye is enough for one pair.

I agree with the Dylon Machine dyes .

Before you dye, you should put your jeans through one or two washes without conditioner, to get rid of any leftover chemicals. This will make your colour come out even.
