I think i need to try and transform my frizzy hair but trying out sulphate free products. What shampoos are sulphate free and where can I get them? Which ones are good for thick dry hair? Thanks

Herbal essences naked, not sure what it has and hasn't got in it, but it's fab, I have very thick hair.

Marylou2 · 30/12/2014 17:54

L'oreal Everpure is pretty good.DD is intolerant to sulphates and it works brilliantly on her waist length hair.We all use the Halos and Horns baby shower range from Boots. It's SLS free and totally fab.

Doje · 30/12/2014 17:56

Body Shop have got a range, and sulphate free. I've also tried the Deva Curl range, which you can find on Amazon. Xx

Expensive but John Masters is awesomeness itself!

dorasee · 30/12/2014 20:49

Jason shampoos...brilliant line of products.

TheGonnagle · 30/12/2014 20:52

I use the Therapie range, particularly the argan oil one, which works well with my curly/wavy hair. I get it from TKMAxx/Homesense.

FairyTrain · 31/12/2014 19:58

Philip Kingsley itchy flaky scalp is awesome

bloomingheather · 31/12/2014 20:03

The Say Yes To Carrots range is really good here
I use the Carrot moisturising shampoo but there are several other shampoos in the range. You can buy them in larger Boots stores, Waitrose and on ASOS.

I use Deva curl too, their 'no poo' range is very good. My hair is naturally curly and I've found the best way to reduce frizz is to not wash too often, only use a wide tooth comb when hair is wet and loaded with conditioner. I use leave in conditioner and a shine product like gloss drops, and dry it wrapped up in an old tshirt, not a towel...not sure why it works, but it really reduced frizz for me. I dry upside down with a diffuser on low speed but high heat. Pinterest has some really good tutorials/ideas for taming frizz.

bloomingheather · 31/12/2014 20:04

I forgot to say, I also have very thick, curly hair which tends to be very dry and the Carrot shampoo and conditioner are great for it.

lavendersun · 31/12/2014 20:06

I have used Aveda Shampure for 15 years, no sulphates. I have lots of hair that is very curly and used to be dry and a really sensitive scalp/skin.

It isn't cheap but I use the 1 ltr bottles with a pump dispenser and use one ltr of conditioner and 2 of shampoo every year which works out at about £10 per month I think.

Ask for a sample somewhere. I never waste money on trying something that doesn't work, I am sure it must be cheaper than trying various things in Boots.

Moo too. The only one who have saved my scalp. Tried loads of others

DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 31/12/2014 20:16

Body Shop Rainforest range.

YY to DevaCurl also.

Google "Curly Girl Method".

Madcatgirl · 31/12/2014 20:18

I've just started using the body shop rainforest products and my hair is looking brilliant! My hair is usually a frizzy wavy tip, but now it's sleek with a lovely wave to it and just so much nicer.

moonrocket · 31/12/2014 22:42

Are any of these non-scented?

Iatemyskinnyperson · 01/01/2015 02:32

Look in a health food shop. Giovanni are lovely. Also Sukin, and John Masters.

butterfliesinmytummy · 01/01/2015 02:36

Neals yard remedies shampoos are good, no synthetic fragrances or parabens either.

sockmatcher · 01/01/2015 08:50

Nevercan · 01/01/2015 18:59

Happy hair days ones! I use the Argan oil ones, really nice. 2 for £5 in sainsbos.

woodhill · 01/01/2015 22:45

l'oreal sulphate free ones seem quite nice.

MrsPeacockDidIt · 01/01/2015 23:09

I didn't realise there was so much choice either until I was recommended to go to our local hair product shop, the ones that sell weaves and hair products for Afro hair. I was buying for my son who has fine hair that is tight ringlets. I chose a product for mixed race hair (because a nursery mum recomended it) called Curly Kids and that, along with lots of other brands I'd never heard of, are all paraben and sulphate free. I'm in SE London so loads of these shops here.
