Are Phillips sonicare toothbrushes worth the money?

Just that really. I'd heard good things recently and was thinking of investing. There are a few on offer at the moment, but I keep thinking
' £120 for a toothbrush?! ' am I mad ?!

My teeth are pretty stained from coffee etc over the years and I was hoping to save up for whitening treatment. Would I be better off doing that?

Currently about £45 on Amazon for the easyclean ones, and it looks like you can add on the diamond heads. I am also thinking of investing!

IMO, yes they are worth the money. We have sonic diamond care, share one with DH (separate heads of course!).

Previously we had a top of range non sonic one, and upgraded when it broke a few months ago at the recommendation of a relative who'd been amazed at the tooth whitening properties of the sonic one he bought.

DH teeth were coffee stained despite whitening toothpaste, and those stains have been vibrated right off!

Teeth feel cleaner all the time, even the next morning!!!

The range is mind boggling. I'm planning on getting one of the higher spec ones that claim to remove 7 times more plaque, rather than the lower spec one which claims to remove 2 times as much.

We previously had oral B

Philips Sonicare HX9172/10 FlexCare Platinum Rechargeable Toothbrush with UV Sanitizer. £112.

I think I'm going to buy this one. Despite not saying so, it appears to come with a small base plate charger too. It's the middle one of the three 'top' ones, the other two are both £99, so for the £13 I think I'll try the uv sanitiser. I don't like the wanky glass the 'top' one comes with and it seems to be the only 'pro' for that model.
