Best bra style for 'empty' breasts?

Hi all, really hoping you can help.

I'm after some new bras but the thought of bra shopping fills me with dread. My breasts have not recovered from having (and feeding) two children in quick succession. They are quite big but empty looking - deflated you may say. From a side view they look a bit like a ski jump! However I have quite a lot of breast tissue under my arms. I'm finding it hard to find a bra that contains the side boob without leaving the top of the cup gaping away from the breast.

Does such a bra exist?

If you look at the top middle of the page there is a union jack flag- click that to put it in to english

Being very close set is actually very problematic. When I was smaller (G cup), I had two bras that I lived in which were incredibly low at the front - one of them was this style. Unfortunately, as soon as I went up to a GG my choices changed dramatically and I couldn't get that shape at all. And I'm so close set that more normal plunges which are a bit higher like the Freya Deco actually hurt as the end of the wire is digging in to breast tissue. I found I was actually better wearing something with a taller central gore as at least the pressure was distributed and the ends didn't dig whereas with some plunges I could end up bruised. This did take a bit of getting used to though.

What you will also find, being super close set, is that half cup styles generally won't work as the cups and wires aren't high enough to keep your breasts apart, so you will end up falling back in to the middle over the top of the gore which is NOT a good look I can assure you! Grin. I find that (polish bras excepted) it's better to wear something taller which holds them comfortably apart than something which half pushes them in and causes pain.

The comfiest I have for the central gore are definitely my polish bras - Ewa and Comexim, but there is also a brand called Kris Line which is available on brastop and also has quite narrow gores. Otherwise, I wear a lot of Cleo bras like Lily. They're not perfect as the gores are too wide but they give good lift and shape and are otherwise very good. The Cleo Neve is a very low plunge which I've actually found ok.

Do you know if you are narrow or wide rooted i.e. do your breasts go round under your armpits or are they quite upfront?m

For armpit wide, shallow boobs that have lost fullness, I'd recommend any of the Freya half cup or longline styles e.g. Patsy.

Many Panache and Cleo styles work well on softer breasts, assuming you can cope with the longer/higher wires. Their bras are better suited generally for women whose roots are lower than the average Freya wearer.

Statistically challenged, I think wide as it's still squishy at the sides under my arm. I always have problems with wires digging in especially in the centre I think it must be the angle of the wires not suiting the shape of my ribcage. Is there a company that could make a bra to fit perfectly? That would be wonderful although I expect very expensive.

Something you can actually do is bend wires ever so slightly - you can bend the central gores out a sniff. TBH, it does become a problem when you are close set and heading over a G cup as the GG plus are all that little bit taller.

I think I am probably similar - if it's tall enough it goes over the diggy point, but i think if you were looking at my ribcage side on it has some sort of peak right smack in the middle of my boobs so mid height bras are torture as the pressure all goes on that bit.

It could be worth trying some of the Kris Line stuff on brastop - ignore the faintly porno style pictures, they're good bras! You might want to size up in both band and cup though as they run tight and small. I think half the battle isn't the height, it's that the top of the gore needs to be very narrow so that your boobs aren't forced apart. This style won't work on you I don't think (moulded tall cups), but it's the one that best shows just how narrow it is at the top www.brastop.com/kris-line-kama-padded-balconette-bra-navy

The one problem is that the polish brands tend towards the narrow side of the wire spectrum. The Ewa BM and CHP are probably the widest I'd say.

You could also try Bravissimo Satine - although it's a plunge it's quite good for wide breasts and seems to be a lot more forgiving due to the construction
