Top emergency.....I haven't been on a night out in 2 years and need a top for work night out

I haven't had a night out for 2 years, but have committed to a work meal next week which I am now dreading. I only have work/office clothing and despite trawling online tonight I can't find anything I like. I had a look in town but got intimidated fed up. I think I've lost all a bit of body confidence since ds. My co workers are tall, slim, young and yet to have dc.

I'm 14-16, early forties, curvy with bingo wings. I would like a top I can wear with black trousers or skinny jeans, long sleeved, I like floaty or fitted, round or v necks, my favoutite top is from phase 8.

I tend to go for black so I can blend in but would like a splash of colour or sparkle. I need it by weds! Anyone got any ideas or suggestion? feeling bit pathetic and thinking of cancelling

We'll you won't need a push up bra if you are still b/feeding! I went on a work night out while still b/feeding. Here's the trick - turn up looking fab, a few drinkies, catch up on gossip and leave before it gets messy. I know how hard it is going out after having kids - it's v hard and difficult to describe the dip in confidence isn't it?

How old is your little one? I know it doesn't feel like it now but you will soon get back to your old self. It's been said a million times but it's true - make sure you have time just to be you. The more nights out you have the less anxious you'll be. In fact I don't go on nights out just early tea and drinks and home by nine. Proper conversations and no hangovers. Love it!

He's 15 months, been back at work 2 months now. I spend no time looking after myself now, if I can get a shower its more luck than judgment (howls & bangs on shower cubicle door) never do anything with hair anymore, never iron Xmas Blush both shift workers, if I'm not at work I've got D's who is going through a demanding & ridiculously clingy stage. Can't leave him for 2 mins even to put bin out!. Everything is a rush, always. I hope it'll get better with time.

It does and DVDs help! This is the hardest stage I think. I'd go on the night out even if I was dressed in my nightie with porridge in my hair! What did we used to do with our time pre kids???

SpaghettiMeatballs · 14/12/2014 08:14

Lovely clothes being recommended on here. I'd say consider going back into normal bras full time now despite breastfeeding but definitely for a night out.

I've gone back into normal bras at around 8 months with both of my DCs and continued to breastfeed. I think it makes a massive difference to your figure.

Have fun on your night out.

Beanandspud and thenightsky, damn you both, have just ordered the dress you linked to. Looks lovely and looking forward to collecting it tomorrow.

I bought this top yesterday.

It doesn't look great on the pic or the hanger but is in fact very flattering on.

cakebaby · 14/12/2014 10:37
