Done to death, I'm sure, but what are the best budget foundations?

Hi

Ok, so with my insanely generous christmas present buying this year, I am unfortunately skint.

I have managed to run out of all my 'essential' beauty products at the same time, which quite frankly, sucks.

I normally wear Clinique Even Better in 01 (am a pale face) , but I just can't justify spending much money on myself right now, so could someone please point me in the right direction for a really good foundation, on a budget?

Ideally something fairly dewy, but with decent coverage and one which has lots of different shades, ideally for pale skin tones.

TIA

I got that skin matching no7 thing done on me and they said that pink suits me better but I HATE pink base foundations, they are the ones that make me look orange. I'm mozzarella faces as well. Nothing suits me really.

I'd get to boots get zapped and get a sample of your preferred formula at least there's less chance of getting the wrong shade

I didn't get on with Healthy Mix (I don't know if I had the serum one or not) - it was just too orange for me!

But I do really like the Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep one... It's a little trickier to get hold of but it is worth it Smile

Oh and also, depending on the sort off coverage you're after, check out the skin tint pots that Lush do. I hadn't used one for years but wanted something a bit lighter than my Illamasqua skin base for day-to-day wear. I got light pink and it suits my skin so well, it's really easily blendable and you can either use it as is or mix it in with moisturiser for just a little tint. Highly recommended!

In homage to this thread iv been wearing my Bourjois healthy mix for past few days and have had lots of compliments.
It does make my skin look fresh and 'finished '.
I find it okay staying power wise too.

Rimmel perfect match ( one with blue cap) or wake me up

I tried some Bourjois healthy mix on after reading this thread.

It didnt seem to sink in no matter how much I blended. Got the right shade. It blended in in parts but was really spotty/patchy noticeable areas of foundation sat on my face.

I've had this happen before with other foundations. Is it because my skin is dry?
