Do I dare wear my beautiful leather a line skirt for work tomorrow?

I know...first world problem Grin
I recently acquired a beautiful, butter soft oxblood leather a line skirt from mango (via ebay). I adore it, but have not worn it. Don't go out much in the evening (2 young children) and it seems a bit OTT for work.
Thoughts? I work in a non corporate environment where people dress smartly but not suit smart. I would team with a fitted sweater and grey shoe boots Smile

I also have a beautiful black A line buttery leather skirt and I have worn it to work - wear your favourite clothes, life is too short!

Sounds gorgeous!

Gem124 · 03/12/2014 16:18

Did you wear it??

BlueEyedWonder · 03/12/2014 20:11

I have a black pleather skater style skirt from Oasis. I wore it to work the other day with opaques and a fitted grey merino sweater and black pointed flats.

I did wear it Gem! No one keeled over in shock that I was wearing a leather skirt Grin I was clearly being very silly about it. It felt really nice and it will defo become part of my workwear repertoire!

Brilliant!

RonaldMcDonald · 03/12/2014 22:59

why do we keep saying buttery to describe leather?
is it because soft skinny sounds wrong?

sleepdodger · 04/12/2014 00:10

I wear mine all the time with smart shirts and jumpers

Greengardenpixie · 04/12/2014 16:21

I think butter soft is a lovely word. Its like the softness of butter left out of the fridge. I like that description! :)

Gem124 · 04/12/2014 22:17

Yay!! Well done you. Bet you felt lovely :-) xx

ive just bought a leather look tight mini skirt and wore it to work teamed with 6 inch high heels and a white blouse and had great complements off the rest of the women and being 49 years young i felt great ,now some off the women who are of same age and older have just bought leather skirts . so wear it to work age is just a number not a barrier.

Bodicea · 09/02/2015 19:52

I am jealous if you all wearing nice things for work - I wear a uniforms and generally look like crap at work!

HiawathaDidntBotherTooMuch · 09/02/2015 20:46

Where does one buy a lovely A line leather skirt? I really want one now!

Greengardenpixie · 09/02/2015 20:58

Well i got a lovely one from linea at house of fraser. It was a real bargain. Not sure if they have any left. I had to go up a size because leather has no give whatsoever and am still working of the christmas bulge

HiawathaDidntBotherTooMuch · 09/02/2015 21:04

Love it, but only size 18 left and I would need a 12. Hmm

You do know flares (I assume that's what you mean) are just about the most on trend item you can wear for SS15, don't you st?

Oh, and that you need to pay to advertise on MN.
