Do you wear a bra at night?

I've just been reading this. It never occurred to me to wear a bra at night.
Is this something everyone does but I never knew????

I don't. I went to a lecture once on forces and how they applied to many things, bridges and boobs were talked about. The lecturer showed that bras are not designed correctly for purpose, they actually put more downward force on breasts and he had used what he knew about bridge supports and redesigned them to support in a better way. He had data to back him up, re: perkiness of boobs in cultures without bras compared to our western boobs. Very interesting!

wakeywakeyteaandcakey · 29/11/2014 22:49

Always have worn bras to bed. I don't feel comfortable without one.

manicmum6children · 29/11/2014 22:50

Never ever if you twist and turn it will dig into your skin and cause painful bruises and its a relief to take bra off!!

squoosh · 29/11/2014 22:54

Nope I'm sure I read something once that said wearing a bra 24hrs prevents lymph drainage.

BIWI · 29/11/2014 22:56

Why?!

BIWI · 29/11/2014 22:57

I mean, why would wear a bra at night? What benefit do you think it gives you?

santamarianovella · 29/11/2014 22:57

24/7

Corygal · 29/11/2014 23:00

Certainly not.

HexBramble · 29/11/2014 23:02

Do I bollocks

Ilovetobiteyourneck · 29/11/2014 23:03

No, I put one on as soon as I get out of bed but could never wear one to sleep in, far too restrictive.

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 23:07

Some of you are over reacting ever so slightly to the thought of < shock horror > wearing a bra to bed Smile

I do it because it feels comfortable. That's all. Nothing very extreme nor deserving of "bollocks" about that

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 23:09

FYI, your lymphatic system is buried deep beneath your skin, same as your blood circulation. Wearing a soft bra will disrupt neither.

Alchemist · 29/11/2014 23:25

Each to their own but I can not imagine wearing a bra for bed. Even having a nap during the day requires bra off.

I do love the Primark hold-your-fat-in vests. They give me enough support and cover my kidneys! Always keep them warm

blueshoes · 30/11/2014 00:27

When I come home, I change into a soft non-underwired bra and wear it to bed too. I sleep in PJs as well, none of this nudie sleeping.

I am perky and hairless on my body.

NeedABumChangeNotANameChange · 30/11/2014 00:34

No, bra off ASAP. Sleep in knickers. Very odd to hear poster above sleeps in a bra and no pants! Always think I look very odd if I take pants off first like wearing a belt with no trousers on.

saintsandpoets · 30/11/2014 00:35

I'm surprised so many people sleep in clothes! I've slept naked since my early teens!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 30/11/2014 00:40

No, unless I fall asleep fully dressed.

Lweji · 30/11/2014 00:44

My bras are fairly comfortable (you know, right size and cup) and I have worn them to bed without any discomfort.

But most often I don't wear them, or wear a fabric/top style one, to keep them in place but not too constrained.

GoingGoingGoth · 30/11/2014 00:50

I probably should (HH) but it's such a relief to get out of the scaffolding.

NoelleHawthorne · 30/11/2014 04:59

How weird to sleep in a bra!

MirandaWest · 30/11/2014 06:03

I don't feel the need to rip my bra off as soon as I get home - I think that used to happen when I wore the wrong size but with these ones it's just part of me iyswim.

justwondering72 · 30/11/2014 06:27

Since having DC and bf for a million years I've worn something in bed, first a bf vest top for easy access and warmth while co sleeping and nursing at night and now a comfy cropped soft and stretchy bra top. I feel all floppy and and unsupported otherwise.

OddBoots · 30/11/2014 06:40

Like some of the others here I sleep in a soft 'crop top style' bra. It's much more comfortable than being braless but I'm not sure that it is much use for 'vertical chest wrinkles' though.

I listen to podcasts on my MP3 player when getting to sleep and if I can't sleep in the night so it makes a handy place to keep it without getting tangled in wires every time I turn over.

Bunbaker · 30/11/2014 08:46

"I'm surprised so many people sleep in clothes! I've slept naked since my early teens!

Why? I imagine there are loads of reasons why people don't want to sleep naked. In my case I get too cold. I need my shoulders covered no matter how warm my duvet is.

Lweji · 30/11/2014 09:12

How weird to sleep in a bra!

Do some people mean to be so rude?

It's just as weird and odd to sleep naked as with clothes, bra or bra less. Clothed sleepers could just as easily go eww at those sleeping naked. I wonder if clothed and bra sleepers are just less judgemental in general. Wink
