Decent makeup brushes

I would love some decent make up brushes. Anyone got any recommendations please?

Well, I have to say that you generally get what you pay for. While there are other very good lines, MAC overall seem to be the gold standard. They are very soft, very well-shaped (not bushy unless they are meant to be) and they pick up the products well then apply them evenly.

I can't afford all those MAC brushes. :(

That's a lot of bang for your buck because they are double-ended, so four brushes in all. They're good quality, well-shaped, and soft. Great value for money.

I have never paid for/bought expensive foundation/stippling/powder brushes. I make do with cheaper ones from Boots.

Real techniques are good value especially their face brushes -expert, stippling, blusher etc. I use a mix of those and Mac for eyes mainly.

Very pleased with my Real Techniques brushes. I have the foundation brush and the shading brush.

Another Real Technique fan here and they have been on Amazon's Black Friday deals twice this week - absolute bargain!

I have mac 187 stippling brush and real techniques brush for my foundation and prefer the real techniques one - £7.99 vs ~£35. Plus a lot of the mac brushes shed in use which is annoying!

i have a real technique silicon eyeliner 'brush' it's really good as it's easy to keep clean and being silicon doesn't flay out. good for getting really close to the lash line.

Mac are good but you need to make sure you get the right brush for the use that you are after eg. they have a wide variety of eye shadow brushes - some for blending, some for application, some for both.

Laura Mercier brushes are good - although I've found that they don't last as long as some of the others- the handle lacquer starts to peel after a few washes. But the brushes heads as still v. good so this wouldn't stop me buying them.

Also Estee Lauder are also fine. I have some Chanel brushes that are also fine.

I have several Real Techniques brushes and I think they're very good.

Boots

Boots do their own range. I've had mine for ages and wash it frequently and it's as soft as the day I bought it.

Real Techniques & Ecotools here too - great value for money and very good brushes. I have Laura Mercier travel powder brush which is also love, but it sheds.
