Could any kind mumsnetter who lives near a Joules do me a favour? Desparate plea!

I love the Joules Thurwell dress here in either the navy spot or chocolate brown

Anyway it's sold out online and as we only have 1 Joules here.

I've range a few stores and there are some available in shops but they won't post them out to customers.

If someone could get me one in either colour in size 10 and post to me I would be eternally grateful. I would do an immediate paypal transfer obviously!

Hope this doesn't sound cheeky but I just love the dress so much and have it in the navy stripe and have worn to death!

Thanks

I'm going to be busy tomorrow checking all these stores.

Mumsnetters are so helpful!

Sorry I'm in Keswick which has a shop but I'm going to Bowness next Wednesday so you could check both of those.

JetJungle · 26/11/2014 21:40

I can pop in to the London Waterloo branch and check for you on Friday morning.

If a kind soul helps you out before that, please do update us.

dottytablecloth · 26/11/2014 21:42

Thanks jet I'm going to work through the list and ting each store tomorrow!

I'll update on here tomorrow.

If you can ring Williams & Griffin in Colchester and check with them I may be able to help you.

nightswift · 26/11/2014 21:49

Seriously - you desire a dress and you are asking a stranger to go out of their way and buy this for you on a promise you will pay them back to paypal where they need to pay a fee to get their money back. Seriously - you do know this is well cheeky don't you and comes across as pretty damn entitled!

JetJungle · 26/11/2014 22:06

dotty I am happy to help you if I can.

FrownsAndDimples · 26/11/2014 22:10

nightswift Entitled? Are you for real? OP realises it is a bit cheeky but if people are willing to help what is the problem.

NoelleHawthorne · 26/11/2014 22:12

gah nightswift

Bog off

dexter73 · 26/11/2014 22:39

The op has asked nicely if anyone is able to help, and people who want to have replied. Can't see the problem myself.

Gem124 · 26/11/2014 22:41

Always one grump who has to try and ruin things!!

Hope you get your dress!! Xz

dottytablecloth · 26/11/2014 23:09

Thanks so much to everyone both on the thread and via pm who have offered help.

Obviously I would be covering paypal, plus expenses, plus postage- sorry I didn't make that clear enough!

entitled seriously? Hmm

nightshade just jog on!

Do Joules not post out anymore? Pah! I've done loads of frantic last minute ringing round stores to get things posted out!

That's a bit rubbish is they can't be arsed arranging that anymore! Prob because of the crap courier service that used to be moaned about on mumsnet a lot!!

Sorry can't help op, hope you get your frock!

AnathemaIsANiceNameForAGirl · 27/11/2014 00:32

I'm sure you'll get sorted, but I'll be in Chester on Friday and would be happy to help in the unlikely event that your dress can only be found there Grin

railwayworker · 27/11/2014 09:45

I returned a navy spot in a 12 to chester on Saturday so you might find one Ana.

MadisonMontgomery · 27/11/2014 09:58

If you want to ring the Lincoln store I can go this weekend OP.

RowanMumsnet · 27/11/2014 11:01

Hello - sorry to barge in but we've had a couple of reports about this one and we just wanted to post up our usual:

We do advise all our members to be aware that not everyone on t'internet is who they say they are, and that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

Thanks and hope you get your dress, OP.

dottytablecloth · 27/11/2014 11:56

Ok, I appreciate that you need to warn people to be careful.

Maybe it would be better for me to pay the shop directly when I phone to check if they have the dress and then the risk is mine.

Thanks again to everyone who has offered help.

Is this the new variation on the Nigerian scams? Grin

dottytablecloth · 27/11/2014 12:17

Oh goodness am Blush that some people think I am a crook.

OP posts:
MadisonMontgomery · 27/11/2014 13:39

I'm sure people don't think you're a con artist OP - it's a Joules dress, not a designer bag! If Lincoln have it in stock or can get it I'll take the risk!

dexter73 · 27/11/2014 13:50

I don't think you are a crook, I was just joking! It just amused me a bit to think that buying a Joules dress for someone could be the new way of scamming people!

dottytablecloth · 27/11/2014 14:17

I know Dexter but people have reported me to MNHQ!

No luck with locating the dress so far, will keep trying the store on the list!

OP posts:
ClaudiaNaughton · 27/11/2014 15:11

If someone finds it you could send them the money and they could post it on receipt.

LeoandBoosmum · 27/11/2014 17:09

Dotty: I HAVE FOUND a size ten in the brown but you'll have to be quick (check your personal messages for my message to you/ details)
Not sure if this one would be an alternative to the blue spotty (I actually prefer it to the taupe spots). I meant to add that the blue spotty one you like is more than probably going to be replenished soon :)

Hope I've helped. I'm sorry some have been so suspicious! I think the majority of people are honest...it's sad that the first thing people think is that you are out to rip someone off. I sort of understand it but I hope I never get that cynical! :) Bon Chance, Dotty!
