Make me jealous, my nails are rubbish.
I'm toying with false nails but I'm worried I won't be able to do things or I'll lose one (I'm cooking, that wold be nasty Grin )

I will perservere with my own nails, they won't be long but I can shape them nicely and go for a short and chic look .

I really really covet a shimmery red ( OPI Rosy Fingers and Mistletoes I think it's called but I have a bottle of 'Waitress' already so it seems daft to duplicate)

So indulge me. What'cha wearing?
I bet alot of you won't be in festive red, mmm ?

Oh I hate those pots. It always ends up all over your hands !!

I have a sensationail kit and got a deep red glittery gel from bluesky. It's beautiful, the colour is so deep and so glittery it almost looks 3D. Very festive indeed x

Buddy - have you seen the new ones coming out this week from sensationail? (look at their fb page!) Am going for the glittery multicolour black or the glitter red or a mix I think!

I have that Bourjois nail varnish remover pot, BotanicBaby, it's brilliant.

OP, have you tried jelly cubes (eat one a day) or get that 'skin, hair, nails' supplement? I would also try cutting your nails and putting hardener on them, Sally Hansen in the silver pot is fab.

I have Gelish done sometimes, it's nice but ruinous for nails, I find. Mine are quite long. Mostly I just use nail varnish to strengthen them and try not to shut them in the car boot.

My current favourite colour is mid/deep grey, no glitter, absolutely love it.

I'm having shellac done on Friday Grin thinking of nude with glitter - just can't decide on the colour of the glitter yet.

RubyGoat · 02/12/2014 08:54

Don't scrub your nails! You need to leave the pad of cotton wool on for a couple of minutes, per nail, to remove glitter polish. If you scrub it's ruinous for your nails and cuticles, especially as the glitter basically acts as an exfoliant... try using pieces of aluminium foil or 10 elastic bands to hold the cotton wool on to all your nails at once, if you don't want to sit for ages doing one nail at a time. see this page

I may have to get some of that peel of base coat - if I can find any!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 02/12/2014 09:14

I've never done mine any damage by scrubbing, I've tried the foil thing to get gel nails off and found it impossible to secure all 10 of them at once. I tend to restrict glitter use to December only because of the extra effort though.

I'm not usually a red nails person. In fact I hate 'doing' my nails full stop. However, my lovely DH gave me the Christian Louboutin nail varnish for my birthday this year and it's a beautiful red. Actually it's the bottle shape I'm in love with.
