Heel grips

Do they work?

I have a pair of heels that were a bargain but slightly gappy at the heel. I've heard of heel grips, but wondered if I would be better off putting an insole in, to help my foot fit more of the shoe that way.

Or giving up and passing them on to Bigfoot Cinderella instead Sad

Bump.
My new (expensive) shoes- height with comfort - wedge- are actually too big. I can't return them.
So insole or heel thingy.
They actually cut into one of my ankle bones- they must be cut high at the side.
Sob Hmm

I'm between shoe sizes so tend to buy bigger and use heel grips which work well (the thicker spongy type). Also use the party feet thingys as they seem to stop feet sliding around and are comfy if standing for too long.

are you sure you can't return them? They plain don't fit.

you can't cure the ankle bone rub so you can't wear them.

ebay?

I have very narrow & pointy heels so have this problem a lot, even with shoes that fit very well - even lace-up boots sometimes slip up & down on my heels!

Heel grips can work - I also buy the thicker sort & sometimes cut them in half & stick each half in slightly to the sides of my heel "point" (if that makes sense) as the gappiness tends to be at the sides with my foot shape.

If the shoes are too big overall OTOH an insole may be a better solution, but a full insole will push your foot up a bit higher in the shoe so can exacerbate heel slippage.

The problem with heel grips us that they can push your foot forward into the front of the shoe and hurt your toes.

You're better off using a front half insole because that raises your foot slightly pushing it towards the back of the shoe.

I have to have heel grips in a lot of my shoes, because of skinny heels unlike the rest of me. Where can you buy thicker grips? I have only ever seen one sort?
