Stylish ladies, what would you do with this hair? Fed up!

Hi,
I'm 37 weeks pregnant and basically just feeling really boring and unattractive. I've got a hairdressers appointment at the weekend and I desperately need a change! At the moment my hair is pretty low maintenance (mostly because it's usually tied back). I'm pretty much open to any suggestions regarding cut/colour, though it'd probably be easier to stay the same colour. Anything that'll take hours to style is probably out with a newborn, but I was hoping to avoid anything too 'mummish' too since I'm still young. My hair is completely unstyled in the picture- I've tried to blank out my face but still give you an idea of my colouring etc.
Any help is REALLY appreciated!

Could be a top, yes, or a dress or a tunic. Could be a jumpsuit. Who knows.
It has a bold print that could be great on some garments and not so good on others
Can't say anything from the photo.

Now you're being purposefully obtuse. Of course you can comment on the 'top' - you can see enough of the pattern and IMHO, it looks hippy-ish and not particularly stylish.

OP, I l know you were asking about your hair so I'll keep schtum about anything else now!

I always grow my hair long during pregnancy as I know there's no time to style a proper cut with a newborn. I'd wait till they're sleeping through the night and then treat yourself to a whole new look.

I think your hair is lovely. Just keep it trimmed, and get rid of the underneath colour - but it's a lovely light blonde and shiny. If you get a bob or a fringe you're going to risk looking mumsy.

I feel your pain - I always get bored with my hair and think oh I'll get it shorter or darker - but hair just beyond shoulder length in a good light blonde, worn not too neat, is the hair of winners Grin

MrsL Who's the woman in the pics please?

musicalendorphins2 · 14/11/2014 06:07

I think your hair looks pretty good, and would just get it freshened up, and the fringe. I wouldn't get it cut short, and would express wanting to be able to wear it up when discussing length with your hairdresser.

Coumarin · 14/11/2014 06:12

Oh got it now, sorry. Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Truckingalong · 15/11/2014 07:20

It's not Charlotte Gainsborough, it's Calista Flockheart.

I've been growing my hair for years, which is hard because it's thick and I keep nearly giving up as I get near the shoulders.

I would second the suggestion to keep it long enough to clip up into a bob or pony tail, with a bit of fringe around the face so it isn't scraped back. Freshen up the colour, then spend your money on something else that suits you like new earrings/scarf.

Two things that are hard to do with children/toddlers: 1) go to the hairdresser 2) blow dry/style your hair properly every day. Think low maintenance. Otherwise it will be 10am and you will be torn between going out to toddler group looking like a haystack or drying your complicated layered bob whilst the children wail and hammer on the stair gate. (or was that just me?)

Fedupnagging · 15/11/2014 07:54

I would agree nothing too drastic at this stage just in case your hair changes dramatically after the birth. (Mine did).

I say go for a fringe and a couple of inches cut off so you can still tie it up. If you have a fringe, it will also look different when worn up iyswim?

Your hair is a lovely colour so keep that. (Am assuming its a good colour for you but can't tell 'cos you have a blue face!)

Will be waiting for the 'after' picture now Smile

MrsLettuce · 15/11/2014 09:34

(it is most certainly Charlotte Gainsborough)

MrsLettuce · 15/11/2014 09:34

(Charlotte Gainsbourg, even)
