I like to look stylish and put together I look a bit mismatchy and thrown together

I have the standard uniform -

Biker jackets
Sweaters
Skinnies
Chelsea boots
Short uggs
Warm Zara padded coat

What should I add to my collection?

Thanks, o wise SBers.

the amazing tights are 4 from boundary mills or 6 from the original factory shop. They are folded inside a cardboard sleeve. Similar tights are available from primark for around 4 but I don't think the denier is so high.

atticusclaw · 07/11/2014 09:14

There's obviously a different uniform everywhere.

Here its

skinnies
tall boots (knee high)
cashmere poncho or pashmina type thing
sunglasses

We're not in London though and so are quite probably wearing last year's school run outfit (or the year before's!)

There's a fairly dishevelled looking group doing the morning school run around here. There's a lot of running and walking gear. The same women look a whole lot more put together for the afternoon pick up, myself included. My clothes are from a variety of places but the look is along the lines of Mint Velvet.

Here the essentials are
A puppy
Dip dyed hair
A fella with a beard Smile

Boxy shaped fine knit jumper to layer with? I got couple from Mango via ASOS and for a cotton/synthetic mix, I think they look lovely. I wear with long sleeved, longer line lightweight jersey from Mark/spencer.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 07/11/2014 21:26

Reading about cashmere ponchos makes me realise i really AM in the sticks! All wellies with a side order of lab here... Country trendy but still trendy..

MollyBdenum · 07/11/2014 21:32

The essentials here would be underwear, shoes, and at the moment, warm clothes and a raincoat or brolly.

LesleyKnopeFan · 07/11/2014 21:55

OK, I have ordered a pleather coat/jacket thing, a patterned, wool, over-sized scarf and a pair of biker boots (not too chunky).

Have also ordered some boggles, a peppa pig onesie, a pair of galoshes and a rain hat. All for the school run, who wants to be my friend.....?

Thanks for all the replies. Wine

I have a cashmere poncho, got it last spring. It's brilliant as a lightweight cover up. My children love hugging me in it too.

scarlettsmummy2 · 08/11/2014 07:43

I have a biscuit coloured wool poncho! I have been wearing it loads, over fine knit jumpers, skinny jeans, and knew high brown boots.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 08/11/2014 08:42

Love the idea of ponchos! Just not practical for my school run - need water/dog/mud/windproof garments, sadly.

tak1ngchances · 08/11/2014 09:03

Round here the mums are all in gym kit in the mornings and then skinny jeans, Breton tops and ash boots in the afternoons. Identikit

TheDogsMissingBollock · 08/11/2014 09:29

Ash boots?

LadyFairfaxSake · 08/11/2014 12:02

4x4 and a sense of entitlement?

gaggiagirl · 08/11/2014 12:25

Yes what is this fabled ash boot?

Summer here and the school mums are v glamourous! If I'm not at work I wear my sports gear and pretend I'm off to the gym when I'm really going to eat banana-bread Hmm

gaggiagirl · 08/11/2014 14:38

Ouch ash boots are pricey but lovely. I have a pair very similar to the jalouse from tk maxx. Real leather 35 quid. Result!

Eastpoint · 08/11/2014 15:06

Last year Clarks & M&S did copies of the Ash Jalouse, they might have something similar this year. Stuart Weitzmann over the knee boots are another option to wear with jeans.
