I have had a complete SHITTER of a year topped off with my not-so-wonderful 'D'H fucking around and effectively ending our marriage. I kicked him out at the start of September, work is chaotic (but should calm down a little by then) and god damnit I NEED to feel good about myself...

Now I am large... 18/20 Sad I know - quite probably linked to the shitter of a marriage / year... however am working on that... I do have dresses that fit - but you know what, for the first time ever I want a new dress... just because I do!

I have a gut, a wonderful c-section overhang and thighs as thick as trees.... someone please help me look and feel good in a dress at Christmas! There is a free bar, free hotel overnight and I want to have fun and make the most of it!

The second one is gorgeous. It'll look fantastic with your figure. Not keen on the skirt pattern on the first one.

Coast?

Mrsdp123 · 14/11/2014 17:06

OohMrDarcy · 17/11/2014 15:42

I take back the Coast one that I suggested. I saw it in rl yesterday and it is nothing like the photo.

Could you borrow a dress from a friend? It seems a shame that we all have party dresses in our wardrobes and they only get worn a couple of times.

OohMrDarcy · 17/11/2014 20:16

Thats very true burnished... the only friends close enough to ask aren't the same size as me though (lucky devils ) so can't really... will have a look on the dotty p's website as I've heard they have a sale on - and are much cheaper

Wallis have party dresses heavily reduced too.

I have finally found and ordered an outfit!

www.next.co.uk/g6714s1#701073g67
and
www.next.co.uk/g402014s2#930549g40

to go with it - both look really nice, however I now need to get the rest right! I think I need the following:
different bra (massive boobs) that doesn't show outside the front of the dress
some kind of control shapeware thingy to wear underneath?
and some flat / very low heels to go with - can't wear real heels at the moment as I have a very weak ankle and it literally just gives up sometimes... when that happens in heels I end up on the floor in agony!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Including feedback on dress of choice!)

That's a lovely dress, great colour. You'll look fab!

CurlsLDN · 09/12/2014 16:42

Ooh love the final choice! I really recommend Debenhams gorgeous range for bras (I'm a 36gg)
I was coming on to recommend the lindy bop dresses, but see someone already gas upthread. I'm a similar size and shape to you and am planning to get an ophelia dress to wear to weddings next year, the reviews on amazon are really good www.lindybop.co.uk/ophelia-dresses-c13/lindy-bop-m1
