What's so amazing about Hunter, Barbour, Joules, Boden and Cath Kidston?

Pray tell please?! Sooooo expensive and middle of the road. Or am I missing something major?

I've just bought a Joules down jacket in the sale. I'll report back in May.

However, it's passed tests 1 and 2, it fits and it's breathable.

Cheap Sainsbury's one had strange filling that was like a sauna in the car.

Fits I think is a lot of the appeal. They are brands aimed at adults. Since Next went all polyester and frilly and M&S hideous Per Una there is not a lot of choice for us with hips

I've had my Hunter wellies (bought in a sale for £20) for about 15 years. Bought them when I was in my 20s and had no idea of them as a "brand" but they are excellent quality and really comfortable. Quite like Joules dresses which fit me well (5ft hour glass so not many dresses fit). Loathe the Cath Kidston look and not keen on Boden so can't comment on them for quality. However it is all relative - eg Jigsaw charge more for much flimsier clothes. I bought a few Jigsaw things years ago when I had more money and they didn't last well.

I think Joules clothes look tacky on either adults or kids
Cath Kidston is also naff
I like Boden quality and customer service
Barbour is now being worn by everyone and is horrible (though I appreciate it can be practical)
Never had Hunters as not much need for wellies

Dont know about Barbour.
When Boden get it right [for me] i.e. a jersey dress i bought that i love..im chuffed!!
Joules...get a bit tired of the flowers but some things are nice. Quality is good and i do like some kids things.
Cath kidston...i like the prints, quite quirky and different. I bought a nice jersey empire line tunic dress in the sales with clocks on it. I like it :) Quality isnt that great though.

Oh and hunters, i really dont get..after all, they are just wellies?
On the other hand i bought a pair of ilse Jacobsen are quality wellies, totally worth the price.
