Talk me out of sparkly clothes...

I have a burning desire to buy a lovely winter party dress in velvet or sequins or something glittery. I'm mid twenties (average height) and hourglass shaped - anything that shines in the light is going to make me look really lumpy and bumpy, isn't it? Also, I don't want to look like I'm trying to draw attention to myself - is that even possible?

I hate trying on dresses that just make it look like there's a spotlight on my boobs and hips, so don't want to go shopping just to feel bad about myself.

I love this Just worried as I'm 41 I'll look a bit Joan Collins in it.. Plus I have nowhere to wear it... Sad

Love that. Am 50 and if I was thinner wd definitely wear that FC dress all the time! Like the Biba one, but it's definitely one for proper grown ups. Even older than me dare I say.

Sequins reflect light and flatter. Lovely dress! Go for it!
