Can anyone recommend a salon where I can get balayage done for a reasonable price (or at least for a definite price, not just POA!), preferably in borough of ken & chelsea. Thanks!

there is a side street near harrods full of salons. I keep forgetting what it's called. There is a place on this street called Beauchamp place..Naim Haute Coiffure is the name. Every woman who walks out of there with hair from heaven. I really want to go there for my next hair mission. This is the place I'll go for my first grey hair...or next big event. I have never ever seen anyone walk out who didn't have supermodel/vogue hair.

I have never been to have my hair done there (I go to a guy on Thackery St behind wholefoods) it's a place called Imenio's. They don't take card and it's a little 'ghetto' but it serves my average hair needs.

Have you explore Hari's at Brompton Cross? if you are prepared to go outside K and C, John Frieda in Aldford St are very good for balayage.

Personally, I wouldn't go anywhere without a consultation first, so that way you find out the cost as well as if you click with the colourist.

Lucy Williams of the Fashion Me Now blog just had balyage. She knows her stuff. I'd look to see where she went.

Thanks for the tips. Naim and John Frieda sound good, I did look up Hari's but it wasn't on the price list. I will call and see if they have a set price as don't want to have to book blind and end up agreeing to a fortune. Will also look up Lucy Williams....x

I got mine done by a colorist in a HOB salon (its a chain of salons). I think they won some awards for their technique. Absolutely LOVED it. It cost 150 quid. Only their senior stylists do it.

I have experience of Hari's.

So their cuts have been good, but I am no fan of Alejandro a colorist they had in 2010. (he may not even be there anymore) but I was NOT a fan of what he did to my hair.

I went in for another cut with Hari's in 2012...and was being seen by Hari's son. He was not good with his customer service skills. The other stylists have been really nice towards my other family members who still go to Hari's.

I was a big fan of Windle and Moodie in covent garden, however I had a horrible experience a month ago and will only suggest them to my worst enemies.

I really want to try out Naim's, as I only see amazing hair walking out of that place...but I have my hesitations.

Also, I think this place is worth checking out:
www.nevillehairandbeauty.net. I may go to them before I go to Naim's because Naim's doesn't have a website...and what kind of business doesn't have a website in this day and age?!

Josh Hole (name of colorist) at Harrod´s.

Happy36 · 27/10/2014 21:16

Josh has apparently gone freelance now as he travels so frequently! (Sorry, I don´t live in London, can´t keep up...) If you are in London area you can email him for an appointment via Linked In (Joshua Rees - Hole). He´s really good. Can provide photos via private message if you want.

Sibi at Harvey Nicks Daniel Hershon. Amazing colourist. Seriously.

My experience at Hari's isn't at all up to date.

Ditto for John Frieda, but I have quite a lot of confidence their standards of colouring, including balayage, are still high.

I actually have my colour done at George Northwood now, by his sister Sally. They're just off Oxford St. Her balayage is certainly good, though I can only speak from the experience of someone with short hair and it's quite ££.
