Grown up friendship necklace?

CareBearWithFangs · 26/10/2014 16:30

I want to buy my best friend something beautiful for Christmas. I've had an awful year and she's been amazing and supported me through everything.

Is there such a thing as a nice grown up friendship necklace? I'd like to get her something that says I appreciate her friendship but that is also a nice beautiful necklace that she can actually wear.

Or is this just a terrible idea?

Appreciate the thought behind it, but terribly naff idea.

How about something like this?

CareBearWithFangs · 26/10/2014 16:40

Yeh and I'm not wanting some sort of half heart necklace either. Even I know that's naff Grin.

I just want a nice necklace that reflects her or friendship or love or something.

I also like these. The Annie Haak bracelets are also nice and may make a nice gift.

Surely anything you buy her will reflect that?

CareBearWithFangs · 26/10/2014 16:45

Not keen on the angel one, but there are some other nice necklaces on that website. Thanks.

Have a look on www.hairygrowler.co.uk they have some really nice necklaces (well, I think so anyway!)

CareBearWithFangs · 26/10/2014 16:49

Your right, mymum, maybe I need help finding a necklace made in Britain similar to the website suggested by ofthetwilight?

I've bought successful presents on similar lines from www.alexmonroe.com

CareBearWithFangs · 26/10/2014 16:53

Incog, there's one on there that's perfect. It's called lift your spirits which is exactly what she does :)

Also www.notonthehighstreet.com/lornahenderson is a completely different style, I know she does commissions too if you phone her, not as expensive as you might think and it might be nice to have a one off

Does it have to be a necklace? There are loads of beautiful friendship bracelets around - Monica Vinader Fiji or Rio bracelets (they come in loads of colours, click through to see options for each) would be my favourite, but also Links of London if you like them - they have an EBay outlet which sells them cheaper.

I think it's a lovely idea and I'd be chuffed if my friend gave me something of such lovely sentimental value!

prettymel · 27/10/2014 03:07

A friendship necklace is a good idea she will appreciate it and she will remember you always by looking or wearing that necklace. Buy a unique pendant or the things that she loves like heart, key, eiffel tower or whatever that she wants.

Have a look on etsy, very pretty necklaces, many can be customised

It isn't naff at all.

My friends and I all wear jewellery which we have given to each other in times of difficulty, sorrow, gratitude and celebration.

Tokens of friendship are powerful talismans and offer great comfort.

Even if your friend chooses not to wear the charm or pendant she can keep it on her key ring. She will still find it very touching.
