I can see it fits well but it's not at all the sort of thing I normally wear. Too bright and too fitted. It is however, very comfortable. Enough give in it to move easily and thick enough not to be clingy. Do you like it? I'm 5'7", blonde and pale skinned, 45yo and the dress is a 12.

If it made your DH go daft, would you still buy it even if you weren't completely sure yourself?

I have Christmas parties and a wedding evening do coming up. What would you wear with it?

Lovely. DH revved up is a bonus. :)

ItsGotBellsOn · 25/10/2014 21:30

I would never wear something just because my DH liked it.

PrivateJourney · 25/10/2014 21:33

I had to Google Ruth off this morning. I reckon I'm a bit slimmer than she is Grin but I can't see anything wrong with looking how she looks.

Buy it. Gorgeous. I don't see anything wrong with pleasing the other half now and then. I LOVE it when my man wears something I love seeing him in

Canshopwillshop · 25/10/2014 21:47

It's a lovely dress and as long as you feel comfortable in it, I think its great that you would wear it for your DH. I love it when my DH wears things I love and vice versa.

NewEraNewMindset · 25/10/2014 21:52

I think it's lovely! Plus it's reduced. Would be a shame not to.

Travel - would it suit a sultry winter?

If you like it then wear it. We're a long time dead.
Love those silver shoes.

Clackety · 25/10/2014 23:18

Thanks Travel, you've clinched it for me!

OneLittleLady · 25/10/2014 23:22

I don't see the harm in indulging your DH, if he really does love you in it and you don't utterly loathe it. I think with your figure and height, you will look stunning in it. I'd keep accessories simple and neat and let the dress do the talking

Skinheadmermaid · 25/10/2014 23:45

I think its lovely. i've just ordered a similar one.

WildBillfemale · 26/10/2014 08:33

It'll look great on you - If it makes H happy then there's no harm in being bold and wearing something you might not normally choose - if it's really outside of your comfort zone then return it.

Deathraystare · 26/10/2014 17:04

Wear the damn dress!!!! (insanely jealous apple shaped potato sack wearing heap of misery).

prettymel · 27/10/2014 03:32

The dress is stunning but it is so bright, if you are not comfortable with it you can wear something that you are comfortable with. You can buy a dress that is plain or dark colored.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 27/10/2014 10:50

I love it, wear with the navy for casual and the other shoes and wrap for more formal. embrace the change and you will love it.

SinglePringle · 28/10/2014 21:30

I just think it's a bit dated an old fashioned. Think Ruth had a tendency to look a tad frumpy.

SinglePringle · 28/10/2014 21:30

Apologies for iPhone related typos.

Simplesusan · 29/10/2014 08:27

Wear it I think it will look fab.
Don't over accessorise. It is bold enough, you need simple understated accessories.

mowglik · 29/10/2014 09:41

I think it might look dated depending on how you wear it, shoes accessories etc but you can trendify most things by careful use of accessories, if you care about that sort of thing
Go for it! I think it's lovely to wear something soecially for your oh even if you don't like it..im sure he'll return the favour :)

tipsyloolah · 29/10/2014 15:13

I'm with SinglePringle - it's very Loose Women, sort of 'Coleen Nolan on a night out' Sad.

Looks really dated and try hard - I'm the same age as you and I know that would put years on me. Very envious of your height and am sure you would look lovely in many, many things - that 'frock' is not a lovely thing in any way.

SinglePringle · 29/10/2014 19:31

I agree tipsy. Very 'Colleen'. I'm 5'8', size 10 and 45 and no way is it my style. I'm still very much in the Emanuelle Alt / Kate Moss school of fashion.

WilburIsSomePig · 01/11/2014 08:56

Well if the OP likes it and feels good in it, it doesn't really matter if it's anyone else's 'style'.

mrsdimmock · 01/11/2014 13:45

Yes, love that dress, can you accessorise it with a jacket & heels to make you more comfortable in it?
