I have £100 budgeted and £100 on a Fat Face card, desperately need some new bits but have no idea what to get at the mo as I feel quite carp about myself!

Have nothing for colder weather at the mo, still wearing my summer tops with cardies, and am quickly losing weight so need things that will me ok as I lose a bit!

Overweight hourglassy figure with J cups, 32 and fed up.

Ideas?

Wait for the sale for fat face, everything is half price.

If you losing weight I would hang in to the fat face vouchers for now as you'd only get a couple of things for £100 and would be better waiting for hitting target weight and/or sales.

For cheap temporary solutions how about new look for jeans, h and m for cotton basic tops and sainsburys (especially if you can land on a 25% off weekend) for anything a bit more interesting.

A good quality coat and pair of boots can make a huge difference :)

Thanks guys, but I need clothes a coat and boots can wait. There is no point in wearing a coat and boots if I'm going to have to be naked or wearing a strappy summer top that's too big underneath!

Basic cotton tops are a no no, never liked them, not my thing and they invariably either make me look like I'm wearing a sack or make me look like a slapper. Either way they aren't the best thing for someone who is overweight.

Can anyone recommend any fitted but not tight day tops? If I could have something that won't be tight on the bust but will puff a little over/under then nip into the waist it would be a good start. Then maybe some more streamlined tops?

Just to note, I'm not into the general layering various plain boring tops thing coupled with skinnies, scarves and ankle boots. It's not my thing

Hi, how about going to h and m and looking for the looser dress/tunic type tops. You have to rummage a bit but they often do them in patterns and they look good with a long sleeved top underneath or a cropped cardigan over. I have accumulated a lot over the years and wear them eg. Pre and post baby as they kind ofdisguise a lot! I am quite tall so they looklike long tops on me and I wear with skinny jeans and boots or trainers.
H and m also good for fine knits if you look carefully - the cotton or cotton mix ones wash and last well. Avoid too much acrylic.

I like fat face - look at the skirts and dresses and earmark what you want to target qhen the sales start.

Thanks mewkins, will take a look if I can get in there. Problem is my giant boobs and my hips match while the waist goes in and my waist/bit of belly is always the first thing to shrink making everything else even more obvious!

when is the next Fat Face sale likely to be? There's a tunic and cardi I want to try (love the 'amethyst' colour)

I had a lot of success in TKMaxx recently - but I'm a compleate fashion disaster.

Got some (work) tops similar to this They also had loads of knitwear. All sorted by size, so you didn't need to look at the stuff and then discover the right size was missing.

Good Luck with the shopping.

There was a Fat Face sale on Christmas Eve last year.

I love my American Vintage Massachusetts tops - they are sheer so you either need to wear two or wear a vest underneath but are wonderful. Not tight but close-fitting, flattering and quick to dry. Downside is they are quite delicate tho'.

If you want to treat yourself buy a Diptyque candle or room spray.
