Help! I am feeling a bit boring and whatever the opposite of bang on trend is, and I want a few bits and bobs to liven up my wardrobe options. What would you buy to help you feel interesting this winter? Suggestions of clothes, shoes and accessories all welcome!

Ideas I currently have:

  1. a blanket cardigan/open poncho/shawl cardigan/whatever the hell you call those things that are basically a shaped blanket

  2. a bobble hat with a big bobble

  3. ermmmm that's it.

Love the Hush hat, exactly what I want, but I need another colour, am insta-corpse in black.

I quite fancy

  • a Zara faux fur stole, that's £30 in dark brown. The £60 ones are like outerwear, in themselves, they are so big. Use instead of a coat, so I won't be getting one that big.
  • some pleather trousers in a more relaxed fit.
  • perhaps a pleather pleated skirt.
  • an Ines de la Fressange grey cashmere roll neck (it's only instores and is quite a relaxed shape. A bit like the Gap ones, but thicker. Also, it's £70)
  • these fab pompom-ish strappy heels from & Other Stories.

Coconut you've made me buy that coat, you're entirely to blame!

Hopefully those HM pleather leggings look great and a fab price, especially if its a style departure for you. I wore mine today with a long dark grey jumper and white converse and felt great, although it turned out the converse weren't the greatest wet weather shoe choice.

And i'm 43 ;)

They aren't a style departure toptrumps - I have a real leather pair in dark real but I'm still losing weight from DC3 and they are half a size too small and I miss them hugely, so H&M ones will get me through the winter until they fit again.
