Cloud cashmere

So…… I would like a big cashmere (or other suitable wool) scarf but I would like what I can only describe as 'cloud' cashmere… Open-ish weave, soft and lovely. Does anyone know what I mean???

I'd like it to be on the shawl end of the spectrum size wise so that I can wrap it around my neck in great big swathes. I have something very similar from years ago, I think it was from Baukjen (back when it was Isabella Oliver) and I am sure somewhere did them last year in lots of different colours but I can't think where.

Please help if you have any idea what I am on about!

Something like this?

This one is reduced to £49 in some colours.

Or this one maybe?

Do you mean something like a Chan Luu one, bargain here on ebay

petitdonkey · 23/10/2014 09:40

Thank you ladies - the Pure Collection links all took me to the home page but I think you have nailed it. It is what they call gessato cashmere, thank you!!!

Am rather taken with Chan Luu though…..

I have a Chan Luu - it is much as you describe! I also have a lovely light one from Pure which I am wearing today. Joseph also do very light ones called Cashair which are so light but may not be wide enough for your purposes.

AmberNectarine · 23/10/2014 12:09

Wow how many times can you say light in one paragraph?

petitdonkey · 23/10/2014 12:11

Hi Amber!! I forgot about Cashair - I have some of their layering pieces but I think the scarf is too thin. Just been looking at Chan Luu - just lovely.

It's knitted that I'd like this time though - I have so many Lily & Lionel type scarves, just wanted more of a chunky knit that is light.

www.goosecollection.co.uk? They do featherweight large scarves etc in various colours.

this looks cosy -

Bearleigh · 24/10/2014 06:26

Or there's Begg - they are woven not knitted, and are more expensive than Pure, but are amazing quality, & light as air:

Oops just read that OP wants knitted...

mypetdragon · 24/10/2014 09:41

I have this Brora -it's woven not knitted but gives the cloudy big scarfy look without being bulky - soft as a cloud too.

(hoping link works)

FreeButtonBee · 24/10/2014 09:54

lurkingaround · 26/10/2014 11:59

Lovely thread.

petitdonkey · 27/10/2014 12:21

I'm loving the Goose Collection and tempted by the discount but really wanted a winter white….

Plus the weather is so fabulous at the moment that I can't contemplate scarf shopping!!

This is such a tempting thread... I normally buy reduced crumpet cashmere and silk big scarves. I don't suppose anyone has seen the crumpet scarves and any of the ones lined above particularly the chan luu. Thin, big (warm) and drapey is great but the ones as thin as the Lionel and Lily pull on me after a couple of wears.

cardoon · 27/10/2014 17:03

Did you see the Willow one linked above OP?

not sure if ivory = winter white
