New boots dilemma

Have just bought some lovely boots from Clarks called Ojore (go to women - boots - casual) but am umming and ahhing about getting their Oopsey boots instead. The Ojore ones are great and very comfy but (I think) nubuck - like suede but more waxy. I already have a couple of suede boots and was intending to get leather this year.
Will the nubuck be really impractical in bad weather?

They didn't actually have the Oopsey ones in stock yet. Have 28 days to return if necessary.

Opinions please!

I prefer the Ojore ones, but i do like them both.

btw isn't the Clarks website a right pita!

cupcakes, you were swithering before but i still like the Ojore ones best

FIMBOnABroomstick · 02/10/2006 14:49

The Clark's website made me feel quite nauseaous {sp?}.

Nubuck can scratch quite easily and isn't as easy to cover over as leather.

FIMBOnABroomstick · 02/10/2006 14:52

Here is the OOPSEY . I prefer the Ojore myself.

cheeryface · 02/10/2006 15:01

i think the oopsey ones are nicer. i had some suede boots last year and got a waterproofing spray for them which i think must have done the trick because the stayed o.k even went in snow with them.
but, i'd still get the leather ones.

I hate the Clarks site - all those spictures moving about. And you can't link to it. Too fancy for it's own good.
So it's 3 to 1 in favour of Ojore then?

I prefer the Oopsey ones - saw them in a magazine a while ago and have been coveting them, but unfortunately don't need to buy boots atm!!

JonesTheSteam · 02/10/2006 16:37

And yes the Clarks site is awful - makes me feel sea-sick!!!!!!

Pollyanna · 02/10/2006 19:48

I prefer the oopsey (in fact am thinking of getting them myself now...).

CurrantBun · 03/10/2006 13:52

I've had some nubuck boots from Russell & Bromley - have bought several pairs over the years as are SO comfy - but if you wear trousers over them the fabric tends to rub the nubuck and it goes shiny. Once this happens there's nothing much you can do about it and they can look scruffy a lot more quickly than leather.

Having said that, I much prefer the matt look of nubuck to shiny leather, especially with jeans.

am really undecided still. The Ojore are still in their box as am waiting for Clarks to get Oopsey in stock so I can compare.
I will be wearing them with skirts and under jeans (am pregnant and too top heavy to do jeans tucked into boots this year - which is lucky as I don't think I could squeeze anything past my enlarged calves).

I think I prefer the Clarks -Ojore- ones - but probably because I'm a bit bored of suede. Also, the crepe sole of the Boden ones make it a bit too casual sometimes.

cowmod · 04/10/2006 14:33

prfer oopsey for with skirts

cupcakes · 04/10/2006 14:35

mmm - I agree (they probably wouldn't fit under my jeans at all).

I have some nubuck ones (ankle) though from R&B,and I wear them all winter.I think they look ok eventhough they get scruffy. If you want to keep them smart I'd get the leather ones.I looove the leather ones.Would they fit my fat calves?

brimfull · 04/10/2006 14:37

effing annoying website

cupcakes · 04/10/2006 14:38

isn't it just.

OP posts:

I don't really mind scruffy but I am concerned about them being unwearable in the rain.
