I'm trying very hard to avoid wearing my 'uniform' every day (skinny jeans, loose top of some kind).

I bought this skirt from Hush, and I love it. Very easy to wear with black tights, and can then still wear a loose-isn top.

But, I don't want to have an A Uniform and a B Uniform. Any more suggestions of things similar to the skirt but not too 'out-there'?

I'm 5'8", and normally go for neutral colours, or one pop of colour. Maybe some pattern on occasion x

I'd imagine our wardrobes are similar and I'd love some inspiration too! I work from home or am at home with the children most days and end up in my skinny jeans (Next relaxed skinny), navy (Mango) or black (H&M) skinny trousers with a selection of jumpers or tops and cardis. I have a nice a-line wrap around denim skirt too, which is good with tights and boots, and I've just ordered a grey wool wrap skirt from Uniqlo. There is a pretty good selection of nice day dresses on H&M at the moment, although I seem only to wear dresses for work things...

Can I ask what shoes you wear? I find shoes difficult! I have brown knee high boots and dark teal biker boots, but I need a pair of flats for the winter and I'm clueless.

Will have a look at Uniqlo, good shout.
I find shoes and coats difficult....I've got 2 pairs of brown boots (fancy, and wet school run), some black boots with a heel which I save for smarter stuff. Then I've got a couple of pairs of converse.

So yes, I need some flats too!

I guess the easiest way to avoid another 'uniform' look, is to change the loose top bit, rather than getting a selection of tight bottom halves and baggy top halves, get some tight tops and loose fitting bottoms, so wide leg trousers, full /a-line skirts.

I am also trying to avoid the 'skinny jeans/trousers and loose fitting top half' uniform, and found just getting lots of dresses and having a 'no jeans 2 days on the run' rule makes you think about your clothes more.

That's a good plan Mary.

I'm after a midi skirt and cropped jumper as a change to the usual silhouette.

Also you can dress down smart stuff, I wore a pencil skirt with some high top trainers and baggy jumper last week.

There are lots of great variations on loafers and brogues around at the moment, and trainers are "in".
