I soo wish I'd asked her - but thought I risked sounding like a mad leg stalker.
Anyway her black opaque tights were PERFECT. Not one wrinkle round the knees or ankle.
And completely matte.

You should ask, most people are flattered. A lady asked me where I got my boots once (they were about 10 years old ) but I told her - M&S.
I didn't think she was a mad leg stalker at all .
Though I do have perfect M&S legs and perfect M&S hands.
It's the rest of me that's dodgy.................

Oh I know - I should have just asked - and now I'll never know.
Maybe I could buy a travel card and just go round and round on the tube looking for her!

Mine had a huge hole in them due to trying on boots with zips and zip caught. Will teach me!

I like the 200 denier ones from monsoon.

Falke pure Matte are very good.

I would always ask about an item of clothing - just last week I saw a lady in Mango wearing the most perfect ankle boots, and asked her where they were from (turned out to be Debenhams). An hour later I had bagged a pair myself. In the sale (yay).

But tights is perhaps a little more stalkerish, I have to agree. "I've been staring at your legs for ages...."

And if you asked me, I probably wouldn't know, as I just grab a pair from the drawer.

Another vote for Falke Matt. They're fantastic.

Surprisingly enough the best black opaque tights I ever bought were from primark. They are much nicer than pairs that cost 3 times as much.

Thank you !!!! I'll give falke and wolford a try as a treat. The ones I'm wearing today from M&S have got a horrible shine to them - and they weren't partic cheap.

Falke pure matte are amazing - I bought a pair in 2011 and they're still going strong.

Tights are most definitely not tights.

The perfect pair of matte black tights is a glorious yet elusive thing.

M&S Autograph velvet opaques are one of my favourites for staying up and look matte to me.

Unfortunately this year's M&S Autograph velvet tights are terrible. I'm into my second wear and they are stretching out & bobbling with white elastic all over the heels already.

I have some Calzedonia support tights that are nice and matte. I was also on the tube today so you never know

Falke tights are £25 a pair!!!!

So now, when I get on the tube, I need to announce
"In case you're wondering folkes, my tights are Blackest Black Matte 100 Denier from Wolford"

And they'll think "Fecking Nutter " but I won't be alone........ (London Underground is a magnet for weirdos)
