Nars orgasm blush - opinions?

dazzlingdeborahrose · 19/10/2014 10:42

I'm tempted to buy this as it gets rave reviews but when I see it, it looks really bright and sparkly. Anybody use it on here? Will I look like a sparkly aunt Sally if I use it? Any alternative suggestions? Thanks.

I really like the revlon pots of cream blusher. They blend in well and come in very wearable colours. and quite cheapSmile

OneLittleLady · 19/10/2014 10:55

I believe one of the Sleek blushers, Rose Gold I think, is a dupe so it might be worth getting some of that as a trail first

CoteDAzur · 19/10/2014 10:56

I like it.

Camsie30 · 19/10/2014 10:57

Love it, it's not super sparkly on, and nothing is more fun than walking into Space NK and declaring "I need an orgasm"!!

dazzlingdeborahrose · 19/10/2014 11:04

Thanks everyone. I might pop in and ask to try it on. Once I've had a walk around and looked at it in the natural light that will help the decision making.

Try Bourjois rose d'or, it's a lovely bright pink with golden flecks.

Cheesymonster · 19/10/2014 11:07

I've used both the nars one and the sleek rose gold dupe and they're both lovely on my pale skin.

southeastastra · 19/10/2014 11:09

go and try it though i prefer a deep throat Grin

MrsJaqenHgar · 19/10/2014 11:49

It was too pink and sparkly for my olivey skin tone. Suits my blonde/blue eyed friends though. The comparatively boringly named NARS Porto Fino suits me perfectly though.

Ujjayi · 19/10/2014 12:03

Dior Rosy Glow is a great blusher and no scary sparkly bits. It is alarmingly Barbie pink in the palette but gives a stunning colour in reality. It gives me that "healthy, outdoorsy bracing walk" glow.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 19/10/2014 15:18

Thanks everyone. Il take a look at all of those suggestions. Especially some of the dupes. Don't believe in spending money if I don't have to Wink

It's that just been out for a brisk walk in the fresh air look that I'm after so will definitely look at rosy glow too.

southeast you naughty thing Grin

I love it, but I prefer the multiple to the powder blush, in my own personal opinion, you won't find a good alternative to it, I compared both mac spirngsheen < very close dupe> to orgasm, and orgasm pigment is much more natural, if applied right,it gives this glowy pinkish ,barely there hint of a blush.

meltedmonterayjack · 19/10/2014 16:01

santamaria - you know how you say 'if applied right?' How do you apply it? I succumbed to the hype and got it but look like I've got 'doll's' cheeks. Way too pink. I have quite pale skin with yellow undertones. I've read so many rave reviews and rarely use it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/10/2014 16:05

The Sleek one is nice but it does have a bit too much gold for me. Though if I apply then buff with a cotton pad it calmed the Midas Touch.

BettyMoody · 19/10/2014 16:05

horribly sparkly

Sparkletastic · 19/10/2014 16:10

I've got it. It's too sparkly for daytime (I'm a pale and freckly brunette) but good for night. Apply sparingly with a large brush high on cheekbones (not apples unless you favour the 'Aunt' Sali Hughes look) and rein in any other glittery products, eg eye shadow.

santamarianovella · 19/10/2014 16:23

melt do you have the cream multiple? I just dab a bit on and blend it using my fingers, no brush or anything, a nars makeup artist showed me how to apply a tiny bit a cross my cheeks and not straight on my cheekbones and just blend outwards, its supposed to be a natural flushed colour not proper blush,

Another great nars blush and a matte one is Anguilla multiple, very subtle pinky blush, I use it as a blush and lip colour,

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/10/2014 16:27

I don't like it - too sparkly. The Boots Natural Collection one for about £1.99 is good as it is nice and pink but no sparkles, or the little Max Factor creme pot. But Benetint is better than all of them, imvho.

littledorrits · 19/10/2014 17:21

I sold mine on eBay. It was too bright and too sparkly. I am very pale and it looked far too pink. If you are anything other than the palest shade in foundation it may be ok but if you are very pale- no. I also bought Deep Throat and that was the same but worse because it was pinkier- but not so sparkly.

littledorrits · 19/10/2014 17:24

As a by the way- I use Bobbi Brown Nude Peach and think the other is Pale or Fresh Peach- both matte, no glitter and quite pale. Nude Peach is pinkier than Fresh Peach which has a more 'orange' tone.

SpanielofDoom · 19/10/2014 17:25

Used it about 10 years ago and it was far too bright and sparkly.
Like most other colour cosmetics it's going to depend entirely on your own colouring and skin chemistry as to whether it will work or not.

meltedmonterayjack · 19/10/2014 19:39

santa, it's the powder one. Didn't realise there was a cream formula.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 19/10/2014 19:50

Ooh now. I'd forgotten all about benetint. Think I have a little bottle of that knocking about somewhere. Might have to dig it out.
