Blue (not purple) shampoo

Ok I'm not terribly motivated when it comes to my appearance but with the onslaught of grey my hair colouring has become much more important. I'm natural mouse and am going grey rapidly so have quite a lot of cool blonde tones in to camouflage the grey. In a year or two I will just go grey I suspect.

Between appointments it has a real tendency to get too brassy. I've currently got some purple shampoo which takes some of it back to a cool colour but my hairdresser recommended a blue shampoo in addition to take out the orange.

I can't find any to buy though (or can't discriminate between all the coloured ones available….) Any clever hair people on here?

You want the very deep Navy blue that is almost black. They did have some in our Poundland a few weeks ago, might be worth a look?
In the meantime, a touch of silver (purple) shampoo is what I'd recommend to clients with highlights.
Hope this helps.

Aveda blue Malva shampoo and conditioner is a bluey-purple colour.

Another vote for Aveda Blue Malva shampoo and conditioner. I've used it not on grey but on blonde which had been over lightened in sun and turned ashy and brassy. Found it excellent and worth the money.

If you leave the conditioner on a bit longer than it says, you get more of an effect - though it doesn't turn your hair blue IME!

I used to make my own, big dollop of any old plain white conditioner with a teeny dot of Directions Midnight blue hair dye.
