Feminine but practical boots?

UML · 18/10/2014 10:12

I need a pair of comfy, mid calf, practical boots for walks in the park, general walks abouts etc.

I'm not looking for biker boots or anything like that.. But every flat shoe I have seen looks masculine to me or way too feminine to be practical (am I making sense? Confused)

I really like fly pama www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/321199294242?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=m&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 and I like the wedge but it's too high a wedge for me

I also like where the following boots are going
www.massimodutti.com/m/gb/en/women/shoes/ankle-boots/double-buckle-flat-ankle-boot-c1009231p4589003.html
But not keen on the brogue look and the sole is not practical (would prefer rubber)

And these I really like

But I think the heel is a little high...

Has anyone seen any boots that I may like?

It's doing my head in!

What is your heel limit? The Fly Pamas, the wedge is under two inches and their heels are rather comfy.

What is your budget?

Thanks for replying!

Not sure, maybe one inch or a little over? To be honest I don't have any heels as I can't walk in them... Would the fly ones be comfy to walk in for someone who hasn't got heels?

Budget around £100, but happy to go over upto 150 or so for the right boots?

Not sure, you could always try some fly shoes on in a store (possibly Schuh?) to see how you get on with them. I have Fly Paco wedge heel ballet pump/court shoe style shoes that I bought for over the summer as I walk loads. They've been great for comfort even while I've had plantar fasciitis

Another alternative to the fly ones is these from Fat Face. They are quite similar in style but with a lower wedge.

I went into a few stores today to try on a few boots...

The fly ones I tried on we're ok but made my feet look big and were really heavy on me..

I even tried some in clarks but they made my feet look big...and I didn't find them comfortable

I'm not sure what it is... I'm so used to wearing light ballet flats that even boots feel heavy!

Maybe I am expecting too much?

I think boots always make feet look big tbh unless they are heeled and with a small rounding or pointy round of the toe

UML, it's interesting that you've posted this question because I have just done a blog post about feminine but practical boots I found. It's here on Common Sense Fashion

Both are real suede and only £55.

I was looking for suede because I wanted to wear them with skirts and I find that suede looks more feminine.

Suede is far from practical!
