I know it's been done before but I can't find any posts more recent than 2012.
It's freezing here and I know they're fugly but I need NEED a new pair of sheepskin boots. My other ones are baldy.
I'm not that bothered about brand as such and would prefer british but mainly just want my feet to be toasty.

What are your opinions on the best quality?

My Wardrobe have 25% off Uggs at the moment and the code HELLO20 works for an extra 20%, making the tall Uggs about £113.

I got seduced by this discount and ordered them in the tall black and was very disappointed, they looked cheap and something you'd get off a market stall. Very thin and not at all lush and luxurious as you might expect. I'm sure loads of people will be along to say Ugg Australia are great though, may be so in different colourways/styles...

A few years ago I had a pair of Celtic Sheepskin (now Celtic and Co) black tall and they were great. Also made in GB and not a chinese sweatshop so on my experience I would recommend them by a country mile.

Never had a problem with Celtic, lovely quality and great customer service too. In years to come you can send them back to be resoled, stitched etc. Go buy British!

Dunno where Ugg Australia are made these days (US? Taiwan??), but the last ones I got were certainly not thin or poor quality. They were super-thick and luxurious!

(Can't speak to appearance, though, as i don't know what the others look like, and I don't wear my Uggs outside.)

I've just had a pair of BearPaws - the Canadian Uggs - a lot cheaper and have really good reviews - the ankle is also a lot sturdier.

Celtic . Every time . Slippers and boots .

Celtic are great

Kiwi Sheepskins are equally good but less expensive - I am always recommending them here and in RL Grin. They do standard boots but also the "Ultimate" boots which have a much tougher sole, great for outdoor use. Mine have stood up to all sorts.

I've had Celtic and Ugg and Emu and I love them all - but the winner has to be Celtic. They are slightly cheaper, wash miles better, and last brilliantly.

I don't care about fugliness, I love warm toasty paws in the winner.

Another vote for Celtic here, I've had a pair of the 'original celt' ones for over a year and have just bought a pair of the aqualambs for wetter weather. They are really comfy and my originals have washed really well.

Don't buy Just Sheepskin. I have had to have 2 replacements for a pair of slippers as they keep coming apart at the seams. The last person I dealt with in customer service was also very surly. The last replacement that they sent me are also now coming apart at the seams.

A £15 pair of fake sheepskin slippers from M&S lasted longer than these very expensive slippers

Lots of people round here wear Susie's Sheepskin boots and swear by them - they're made in Narberth, Pembs :)

Clarabumps · 15/10/2014 13:07

Wow- Thanks for the replies. It looks as though Celtic seem to be the out and out winner. I'm also going to look at the Kiwi ones as well.
Excited now.

I have never washed my sheepskin boots. clatty emoticon How does one go about this?
