Is HOC worth it if you're cool and warm?

Sorry for another colours question, but after a bit of self analysis I think I may be cool and warm, or at least neutral.

Since HOC seems to begin by deciding whether you are cool (Winter/Summer) or warm (Autumn/Spring) and then go on to testing you with colours from those pairs, it seems like you might very early on be moving away from some colours that might suit you, even if you lean one way?

Also, I seem to remember reading that HOC focuses on skin undertone, whereas other sites about colour analysis say that the eyes and hair are quite key. I think my eyes/hair are warm but not sure about the skin undertone so I feel like I might fall through the gaps and it might have been a waste of money...

Anyone got any advice, or has anyone felt like that happened to them?

Burnished is at the autumn end of winter, as it were. I love the palette too, really elegant.

Hmm, I could be a soft summer deep - that new category certainly seems to broaden the idea of what I though summer was. Gorgeous colours.

As you say though Tatty it is so hard looking at yourself, I wouldn't be surprised to find I was wrong about everything, especially if underlying skin tone is key as that seems harder to work out than hair/eyes.

I did see a quote somewhere about it being not how your skin looks, but how your skin reacts (to colours) which I guess supports the whole draping process.

Bit confused about contrast - what if your eye and hair colour are similar, but your skin is more contrasted with them...Confused?

DP thinks it is all bizarre! At the weekend we were walking past a pile of autumn leaves and I was asking whether I 'blended' with them Wink.

Temporary I am not the slightest bit dramatic - I am a completely average Brit with fair skin, hazel eyes and mid brown hair. A little bit contrasty because of the pallor. I'm OK with black, red, burgundy, purple, grey and the greens but was shuddering at the cobalt blue. It took a while to place me as warm/cool so I don't think I can be a million miles from Autumn.

I would go for the day, it's not that expensive and you can't really pre-judge the outcome.

Interesting Raising. Your colouring sounds lovely. Cobalt blue can be quite scary. For me it is also one of the school uniform associated colours Confused.

Did everyone turn up on the day completely make up free? I don't really mind that can hide under a big scarf till in the building but don't like the idea of not being able to conceal an unexpected blemish or something. Guess I'd just have to hope not to have one.

Thanks Travelin, yes definitely wouldn't be in fake tan, that would be a bridge too far from my usual shade of off white Wink.

I'm a sultry winter but on the cusp - the lady took ages trying to figure it out and I was really impressed. It def helped having a trusted friend calls a spade a spade with me who also had hers done so I would reconnect that if you can find someone

Recommend even - I'm not on some corporate lingo I promise!! Grin
