Can anyone recommend a 'blurring effect' product?

I have quite bad dark circles under my eyes, my concealer (collection 2000 illuminating concealer) deals with them pretty effectively, but like most concealers, it has to be applied very carefully in a well lit room.

We're going away soon. The last few times I've been In hotel rooms the light hasn't been very good, I've ended up applying concealer badly, the end result being "this might have looked better if I hadn't bothered ......"

So I'm wondering if there's some sort of blurring effect product I could use? I realise it won't be as effective as an under eye concealer, but anything that could soften the look of my under eye area, that doesn't need such careful/time consuming application?

I'm experimenting this morning with Garnier BB cream.

A dirty mirror.

Sorry Blush

No but watching with interest as I have exactly same problem. I either look caked or knackered! I can tell you now that the blur cream doesn't work Sad

I said earlier that I was experimenting with Garnier BB cream today - pleasing results. I applied a light layer over my whole face, then an extra layer under my eyes. I then did the rest of my make-up as usual: loose powder, a warm coloured blusher, mascara, eyeliner and tawny shade of chubby stick. And whilst my dark circles weren't completely erased, they were definitely toned down and to be honest the whole effect wasn't too bad at all. Much better than the caked, hit and miss results created by dim hotel lighting. And missing out the concealer meant I finished my make up in half the usual time; another benefit when getting ready in a hotel room for a day of sight seeing.

Of course it's different in the evening, if we're off to a bar or restaurant then it's usually dim lighting, which is far more forgiving to concealer mistakes!

I've also just started using Clinique Even Better Eyes (which divides opinion in my office) but its worth a try. I'm fed up of being a slave to concealer.

I did like Garnier BB cream, but sadly it's too oily for my skin, or vice versa Grin
I'm currently using a Clarins product at the moment, Instant Smooth I think. You can get it in a tub or pen. Seems to work well but not sure how long the effect lasts though! Their concealer was good but I haven't purchased yet as I too find that when I bring products like that home I end up with product sitting in my fine lines making me look 90!

Phwoar paint is good and you don't need to be so precise.

My mum was talking about the instant smooth pen thing, she really rated it but I think it's a treatment rather than a concealer.

Nano blur in boots

Smashbox do a brilliant one

I read on here about mixing concealer with serum and a brightening cream like Benefit Girl meets Pearl - it works for me, thins out the cakiness of concealer

bluesbaby · 14/10/2014 21:18

The body shop insta blur is pretty nice, better than the cheapo ones in boots.

The smash box one -if it's the primer you mean it's exactly the same as lanacane gel but 6 quid!

I'm a devotee of Garnier Perfect Blur. Often slap it on after moisturiser in the morning and forget about foundation.

OP can't you take a mirror and apply near the window?
