Fractured shoulder, help!

I have my shoulder in a brace and so far I have been able to wear only pyjamas, or leggings with a big loose shirt.

I need desperately to find some clothes to see me into winter, possibly even for work if I go in for a few days.

Clothes have to be button up, loose sleeves so I can get my injured arm in first. But I have a brace in my upper arm which has to go over the top. Do actually a long sleeve jersey top would be good for that. If I could get into it.

I probably need dresses, as I can't dress myself so can't manage skirt buttons or anything.

I usually wear thick black tights and boots.

For weekends I usually wear jeans but can't at the moment. Been wearing thick black track suit trousers/leggings. Where can I buy more of those?

Size 14. Don't usually buy many clothes.

Join my club! I've had a shoulder operation for a partial dislocation and been off work for 8 weeks so far.

Are you bothered about a bra? I ended up buying the cheapo pack of 2 front fastening from M&S.
Tkmaxx and Matalan online are good for loose drapey tops and M&S had the pull on thick jersey treggings or leggings.

ouch.

when himself was in an awkward brace for ages, what worked was trackies (also leggings for you) - sports direct etc are good and cheap. Matalan also do fleece jackets with big sleeves.

basically - go bloke. You need to be warm and comfortable, and as few fastenings as possible.

Ignore the older lady 'classic' trousers, but here's a link to pull on trousers from M&S

here

That's really helpful, thanks. Treggings? Is that track suit trousers/leggings?

Treggings are like trousers but made of thick stretchy material like leggings. A cross-breed, if you will Smile

During my very long period in plaster and splints, I found M&S secret support vests (step in, pull up), leggings and half sleeve cardigans worked really well. If you can get your bad arm into a long sleeve jersey top (maybe size up a couple of sizes, the Primark ones are dead cheap), then it will be warmer.

Jersey maxi skirts are good too as no fastenings and look ok with boots and socks underneath

I have been there - shoulder surgery 4 years ago, but, a bit like childbirth, I appear to have blocked it all from my mind.

I vaguely remember managing to get tops on by bending over as if to touch my toes and sort of trying to inch them over my head, if that makes sense.

M&S used to do some quite nice jersey wide legged trousers which are handy for pulling down one-handed.

Thanks all. I can we I will have to go shopping, a very rare occurrence usually prompted only by maternity, post-baby, new job sort of scenarios.

Long jersey skirts? From where?
Half sleeve cardigans?

To get tops on I get the bad arm in, edge if up to my shoulder (arm is frozen by my side) then have to bend my head close to my elbow and try to jam it through the neck.

All really awkward.
