I'm a little nervous! Just getting my frown line done but... any bruising/ swelling? Is it painful afterwards? Thanks! xx

It hurts far less than you might think. Less than eyebrow threading, that's for sure.

There shouldn't be bruising. You will be told not to rub the area for a while afterwards.

The effects will take a few days to show. Then you will be amazed and delghted.

hellsbellsmelons · 09/10/2014 15:03

Absolutely as per PP.
You really won't feel much at all.
It will over very quickly.
If it's done properly you will have no bruising.
But it does take a couple of days to kick in. So don't expect immediate results.
You'll love it.
Wish I could afford it!

Ooh thanks both! I'm excited now. I'm glad you told me it takes a couple of days to kick in, I wouldn't have thought that.

I want it so badly for my very prominent frown line.

Think I will have it as my 39th birthday gift to myself, next year.

Any recommendations for good clinics/practitioners in Wiltshire or Swindon or Bath?

I'm very lucky, I'm a journo so get to do all this stuff for free! Grin

I think you're supposed not to sleep for a few hours after so the solution stays where it's supposed to (not spread into other areas). I don't know how accurate that is. Ask the consultant. It will take more than a couple of days if this is your first time. It's afterwards that it kicks in quicker.

MiaSparrow · 09/10/2014 20:21

Thanks Lady I'll bear that in mind. Holger I pinch myself constantly. Grin

It takes up to 3 weeks to kick in.
Make sure you have an experienced practioner.
You should just look like you have had a few good nights' sleep.

Holger me too. Just one VERY deep line between the eyes. Wish it would go. Would love botox but a bit scared at the same time. Sadly I don't think I could afford the upkeep, and I'm pretty sure I'd want other stuff done tooHmm

aylesburyduck · 09/10/2014 22:22

I had it done about 7 years ago and in fairness I didn't really need it done however I was being a guinea pig fir a friend of a friend.

It took around a week to kick in and as a pp said I just looked like I'd had a great holiday and lots and lots of sleep.

I will have it done again in the future but for the moment I am happily growing older and have a few little lines which is fine with me.

FWIW it didn't hurt a bit but then the chap doing it was an anaesthetist so was used to working with needles!!

HolgerDanske · 09/10/2014 22:27

I don't mind lines in general, don't really think there is anything wrong with wrinkles. But I don't like having a prominent frown line between my eyes because it looks like I am scowling all the time..
