Measuring your 'rise' for trousers

Wondered if anyone else has this problem?
I am slim-ish- a size 10 round the waist and hips are just 35.
But I find many trousers cut me in half IYSIM and feel very tight because there isn't enough material from crotch to waist. I don't want 'waisters' but prefer them an inch or so below my belly button.

Measuring - wearing leggings- from the front crotch to within an inch of my waist is almost 10 inches and the back rise is about 14 inches.

Anyone else?

You could try judging rise by measuring the length of the zip on a pair that is a good fit and comparing it when you go shopping..

Yeah good idea.
Some online shops give the measurements- eg Boden- but it's still a bit of guesswork.

I have this problem too. Only COS and zara seem to have trousers that don't cause, ah hem, discomfortSad

I tried some skinny jeans on in White Stuff that were great everywhere except the bum coverage- was verging on builders cleavage. Maybe other people are happy with this but it wasn't comfy.
