Recommendations for good face moisturiser and/or serum under a tenner?

After having DS five months ago I've become too tight to fork out for the expensive face cream I was using (Chanel Hydramax & serum) and I've been working my way through a series of cheaper ones. I haven't liked any of them, they've either been far too thick and made my skin look dull, or haven't been rich enough.
If I say what I've tried, would anyone be able to recommend some others please? I'm happy to spent up to a tenner per pot, but the cheaper the better so that I can feed my baby toy buying addiction Grin

So far I've tried various aldi creams, nivea ones, boots ones (but found I'm extremely allergic to their botanics, time delay and no7 ranges) and soap & glory ( loved the one in the shiny silver pot but would prefer something cheaper).

I have dry skin which is naturally very very dull (thanks to several years on morphine when recovering from a bad accident, my skin has never been same since) and I'm getting wrinkles. I'm not so worried about them though. Also my skin didn't change throughout pregnancy or after, not sure if that's relevant. I love using serums, really liked the clinique turnaround one, and I'm eeking my way through my last tube of Clarins beauty flash balm.

So, if anyone had any suggestions after my rambling, I'd be very grateful thanks Smile

I have really dry skin and have been using the body shop vitamin e range. I use the face wash, moisture serum and moisturiser and I felt it had made a difference.

The moisturiser and serum are about £12 each, but there is always a offer knocking around.

My sister used the boots serum (the no 7 one that everyone raves about) and really liked that.

The Avene range, in Boots, is very good for dry sensitive skin and is about 11ish. They have a serum as well. It sounds like it would suit your skin, I have dry skin as well and love it.

My skin can be quite sensitive / dry but I find Astral lovely and softening with no redness.

chanie I haven't been to the body so in ages, I'll go and have a look thanks.

naive that does sound good, I've seen their stuff before but wasn't sure if it was any good, I'll have another look.

victory someone recommended astral to me years ago, but I never got round to trying it, I'll definitely have another look

Thanks very much all, these are brilliant recommendations Smile

Boots vitamin e daily moisturiser has been great for my skin, I have very sensitive, dry skin and it started looking a bit dull. Now it's baby soft and looks healthier Smile
