Is there anything I could use for combination (but dry bits are really dry) skin that's also really sensitive ?

I use a warm flannel-a muslin cloth is a bit harsh, but I think I'd benefit from a weekly exfoliate.

Any recommendations?Smile Thanks

Or should I leave well alone?

you could try the Lush face mask , Oatifix. It's very very moisturising but has oats in it for gentle exfoliation. Failing that, Supderdrug Vit E exfoliator is scrubby but doesn't hurt skin. I have both of these and have very dry sensitive skin

Oh thanks,I have the vit E face wash so the exfoliator might work.

Have you tried home made exfoliators?

I made a honey, lemon and sugar scrub a few months ago and it made my skin feel baby soft.

Here's how I made it:
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon honey
squeeze of fresh lemon juice

If the mixture is a little loose, add a bit more sugar.

Hope this helps Smile

I like either Alpha H microcleanse which has small bits in but not harsh and also AHAs to exfoliate.
If not using that I really love the Dermaflannel which I got after seeing so many recommendations on here.

I like the idea of the home made one, I'll try that. I think it's less likely to irritate too.

Shop-is the derma flannel a glorified micro fibre cloth?

Absolutely not, it looks like it though! I was a little disappointed when it arrived tbh but once I'd tried it I could feel the difference.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/10/2014 12:07

Hmmmm that might be something to try then.

If you like their Facebook page they often put offers on with a reduced price and if you sign up for the newsletter before you purchase you get a discount too.
Might make it more affordable for something you've not tried :)

I love Ginvera Marvel Gel from Cult Beauty. I have dry sensitive skin and this stuff is great. You rub it on dry skin and it turns into little balls. Once you rinse your skin it feels gorgeous and smooth. It doesn't irritate my skin. I use it a couple of mornings a week or more if my skin is flaky.

I quite like Boots No.7 Microdermabrasion exfoliator. My skin is not sensitive but it is very dry and I can use this with a very light motion about twice a week. It's wonderful.

Carpaccio · 07/10/2014 14:29

I'd go for an acid exfoliating toner such as Pixi Glow Tonic: www.pixibeauty.co.uk/skintreats/glow-tonic/glow-tonic

There are more expensive alternatives, such as one from Clarins.

SofaCanary · 07/10/2014 14:33

Avoid anything grainy, it will just scratch and irritate delicate skin.

Alpha H Liquid Gold or Elemis Papaya Enzyme Mask are both good. That Pixi stuff looks interesting to.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/10/2014 23:33

I just tried the sugar home made scrub-it's fab! My skin feels lovely but not at all red and reactive like it normally is when I try something new. ThanksThanks

Dermalogoca microexfoliant is great. Very gentle

Kelliem · 09/10/2014 08:57

My skin is very sensitive, I used Elemis skin buff. Fab, if a little ££
