casual size 14 big bust help!

Hello

all my clothes are either work clothes or too dressy for everyday use.

Today I've gone out in black tracksuit bottoms and black jumper, I look a mess, does nothing for my figure etc. But it's the only casual outfit I own. Usually I wear the tracksuit bottoms to bed! Blush

I'm curvy size 14. 32jj bust, smallish waist and big hips. I know what suits my figure with smart clothes, but am at a loss with casual.

Can anyone advise or help?

Thanks

Queen - straight leg jeans scare the bejesus out of me for some reason. Yes I do have an irrational hatred of my legs - they are short and fat and stumpy! Also with jeans I find the waist area very bulky and I usually have to wear a belt, which causes more bulk. What am I doing wrong?!

Marys - Love those biker boots. Perhaps I could get away with jeggings or skinny jeans if I wore those. I get what you mean about the bardo top - think I may have to invest - I love them. It does worry me that they will be too tight around the middle, and wouldn't cover my bum. Which I don't mind with a pencil skirt but defo a no-no with jeans / jeggings...

I am a nightmare aren't I? This is why I hate shopping!

Umm.. what's your budget? I REALLY love www.saintbustier.com - everything on there seems to just 'fit' with my hefty norks. I otherwise tend to go for warm jersey dresses and comfy boots in the winter. V comfy and looks really smart.

Otherwise, I believe the mantra goes 'what would Nigella wear'?

Another one with the same problem! Does anyone else find that it's also easy to accidentally look more smart/overdone when you are trying not to be, just because of your curves and boobage?

It's annoying

Not much help from me at the mo as I desperately need new clothes, but I do like a nice knitted or jersey dress

Hello

joquatro - had a look at saintbustier - alas, its far too expensive for me although the clothes look fabulous Sad

I wouldn't want to spend more than £30 on one item of clothing.

Yes TripTrap - all the time. I don't want to look smart / overdone all the time. If I am going for a quick drink down the local for example. Or to the shops on a saturday afternoon. But I always seem to look smart/overdone

It does my head in

I have a similar figure and live in casual clothes. I have only recently come to realise that my clothes do need to be fitted in order not to make me look even bigger. I love love love my few pairs of M&S pull-on jeggings I think they are as comfy as trackie btms but smarter. I wear them with fitted tops that cover my butt/crotch (not pretty in these I'm afraid).

Evil - what footwear with the jeggings?

I've just moved from jeans into cords, but suspect you'll struggle with the bulk on those too.
What would happen if you wore a pair of chinos or similar (ie heading to work wear!), with a v necked tee or fitted jumper on top?

I have no fashion sense however, and struggle to be smart enough at work. I can't get on with dresses and skirts - I really struggle with the foot wear, and chasing small people without flashing my pants. The boobs also make shirts/ jackets hard, so I wear jumper tops, or cardi's......

I've seen some really cute little ankle boots in various places ARGH, they go well with jeggings. (I'm shopping vicariously through you).

I have a great pair of ankle boots from Aldo. Black suede, with quite a tall heel. I love them. Maybe I should invest in some flatter ones though, for the sake of being casual.

I want to buy myself a nice winter dress. Long sleeves, knee length. Not too fluffy (I don't want it to make me look bigger than I already am)

I already have one similar to this and I love it, I would like something with the same sort of shape, not stripey though. I want something that is just easy to put on and not have to think about. Something with a bit of shape but not too tight.

Can anyone help?

I may start a new thread too, as I am going shopping on Sat and have no clue where to go. budget about £30 but willing to go slightly more expensive if its the right one for me. xx
