what would you recommend from Avon?

My friend is starting selling Avon so I want to support her and buy some things. However I don't wear make up daily and use eczema cream instead of body lotions but may order some mascara, face cream, hand cream, nail varnish or something to hide my black circle. Are these products from Avon any good?

She is bringing me a brochure on Monday.

I am currently using Avon shower gel. It's as good as anything you buy in Boots and the prices are good. My DS uses their kids shampoo and kids shower gel. I also have at the moment one of their foundation/BB cream type things which is good.
My sister likes their bubble baths, lots of different fragrances and again quite cheap.
I used to be an Avon rep but gave it up as it was a pain in the arse.
I never bought any of their high end anti aging stuff as it's really expensive and I fear it's a rip off but any of their products that you can get for under a fiver are good quality and good value I think.

Thanks for the reply. Just thinking do they sell hair stuff, I have curly dry frizzy hair do they have anything that would be good for it?

I've never been mad keen on their hair products tbh. I have coloured hair and the shampoos, conditioners etc have always left it feeling a bit dry.
I do like their hairbrushes and combs though. Dirt cheap and last really well.

I recently had an order of quite a few things. The luxe mascara is good. It stays on without flaking and goes on well.

The luxe eyeshadow is a letdown. I bought the roses and although the colours are nice the formulation, it is gritty and doesn't stay put. MUA palette is better for a budget option.

The luxe lipstick is very oily and the colour I bought looked nothing like the one in the catalogue. I bought a rose shade and it was orange with gold glittery bits.

I was also similarly disappointed with their other lipsticks in that the colour swatches bore no resemblance to the actual product. I bought a shade called Chic that was anything but. It had that 1980's blue hue to it.

The glimmersticks are great as usual. I bought a plum one as it's less harsh than black.

The gel finish nail varnish is crap. I bought two and they have the lasting power of a gnat- even after applying three coats. Would probably work for toes but not hands.

The extra lasting lipsticks have a nice formula. They are not particularly long lasting but they are creamy and don't bleed. I bought totally twig which is about a nude a lip as I can do and ravishing rose which is a really good stronger lip colour without being garishly bright.

I took a chance on their soft musk perfume and it's okay if you can tolerate a white musk from the Body Shop dupe. Not really my thing so will give to my teenage daughter.

I won't bother again as I think I will just buy the lipstick/glimmersticks on eBay as necessary.

I am allergic to most of their stuff - the hair products make me want to scratch my scalp off.

I think the only thing I really like is the bubble bath - it's often on offer and me and my mum have used it for years.

Also use the Skin So Soft dry oil spray as a horse fly repellant lol and DP uses it for the midges when he goes to Scotland.

Oh and the glycerine hand cream is the best in the world.

Other than that I'm not keen and reluctant to find another rep as I always feel obliged to buy from every brochure.
