First; are they good for really walking in? Not like proper walking boots obviously but will they be comfortable for someone who usually achieves her 10,000 daily steps and is quite active.
Second; can a 52 year old wear them?
Thanks all.

No. Yes, but only indoors, or collecting the newspaper from the nature strip. The second part has nothing to do with age.

Cosy and warm, offer no support for your ankles or feet if you are walking quite a bit and you live in fear of it raining when you wear them.

toptrumps1 · 04/10/2014 09:23

Not suitable for walking long distance at all, they were designed as slippers if that gives you an idea. They also mark easily and don't like water. But they are warm and cosy. Your age is irrelevant. I have them for indoors and short walks out when it's dry and cold.

I have Gershwin Uggs which are leather, so fine for in the rain. I regularly walk 3 to 4 miles in them and find them lovely and comfortable.

I walk 4 miles a day in mine, they are very comfy and warm. Age is irrelevant! But my stepmum wears them and looks great (she's 50-something)

MairzyDoats · 04/10/2014 09:30

My mum (60, but young for her age) has a chestnut pair and walks in them, but they're not good for rugged or muddy terrain. Beautifully warm on cold days though. Someone should invent fleecy walking boots.

And even the wear down chick them away or you end up walking like a chicken.

I've got a pair. They are the classic shape but a nice waxy dark brown leather. I think any age can wear them, they are never going to be the most attractive things though.

I do a lot of walking and they are okay, but not the best for long distances. I mainly got them for standing around in the play park, nipping to the shop and such. Mine are good because they don't mark in the rain. They actually repel water when I have used a wax on them.

I do think they are ridiculously overpriced. I only got mine because I got them at work and used my 50% discount.

Kittykatmacbill · 04/10/2014 13:26

I have a pair as slippers lovely and warm but not tempted to walk in them! Not that safe feeling / bit of a trip hazard in them.

Yes you can wear them in your 50s, but only if you don't walk on the sides....

I have Kiwi Ulimates and have walked miles in them. Are fine in rain too if sprayed with protector stuff, not watertight like wellies of course, but no need to fear wet weather.

Better than Uggs.
