Sorry if this is vague but a while ago on s&b I read a lot about using hot cloths on the face?

My skin is pretty bleh post baby and I would like to do something to help it along..

Anyone know what I am on about and could give quick what to do instructions?

Thanks!

I do this every evening. I use the Superdrug Naturally Radiant cleanser which comes with a muslin cloth. I gently smooth the cleanser over my face to massage it in and then use the cloth, which I've soaked in warm water, to gently wipe it off. I think you are supposed to then rinse your face again with water but I always skip that bit! Rinse cloth in warm water and then hang to dry. Ta-dah!

oh, by the way, I always remove my make up with a wipe first (I use Simple) and then do the hot cloth thing, so I think that counts as double cleansing.

Thank you Frankie- is this Superdrug cleanser rated then? I will definitely give it a try..

I use the Liz Earle Hot Polish & Cloth which I think is amazing! So much so I often gift it as a present to girlfriends.
My skin always feels very clean afterwards. Sometimes I might add an evening serum for extra nourishment.

I do the same as frankie but use micellar water first to remove makeup then superdrug hot cloth. Skin feels fab.

Berlinbee · 02/10/2014 15:42

I do this every day and my skin always feels amazing (and hopefully looks ok!). My favourite thing to use is Liz Earle- it is so cleansing. I am also a fan of Lush's Ultrabland or some plain almond oil.

I find it a thousand times better for my skin than normal cleaners. I just use normal flannels.

The Superdrug one is a good economical alternative to Liz Earle. I've used both but started using the Superdrug one when I was maternity leave.

Thanks so much.. It's definitely worth trying and I think I will start off with Superdrug to see if I can stick to it as I am oft v lazy at night and only use facewipe!

I also love Lush Ultrabland and a normal flannel. Just use hand hot water though. It's delicious and there's no artificial guff in it.

frankietwospots · 03/10/2014 21:34

Even better, the Superdrug one is half price at the moment! I use the serum too.

As others, but I like normal towel face cloths, I think they help exfoliation too and just 'feel cleaner'. You need a clean face cloth/muslin every day.

WildBillfemale · 04/10/2014 12:13

It's really just washing with a face flannel rinsed in hot water - calling it 'hot cloth cleansing' enables companies to sell us special hot cloth cleansers.

You can do it with any old cleanser

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/10/2014 14:04

What Wild said-any old cleanser and a warm flannel.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 04/10/2014 14:37

I use baby lotion and a normal flannel.

Good Things Manuka Honey cleanser (smells gorgeous ) with some very elderly Liz Earle cloths (I bought some new muslins from Dirty Works at Sainsburys which are nice too) they get softer with age.
